You are a shadow-made person who needs to escape through a door made with shadows, but for this door to open you need to push 3 blue buttons across the scene. You can push these buttons by jumping on them.

Shadow Symbol

Every time you use a skill, the symbol above your head fills up a bit. When the symbol is complete the character dies.

Controls

  • W, A, S, D - move

  • W + W - double jump

  • Space - Dash

  • M - Attack

  • N - Change Form

Skills

The character has two forms, each one with different abilities:

Shadow Mode:

  • Double Jump
  • Dash
  • Character can be killed if you spend too much time exposed to lights

Solid Shadow Mode: - Attack - Light Protection - Character can interact with things in the physical world, such as stairs and buttons, but now can be seen by monks (enemies)

Nice concept with multiple characters and all the interactions.
Difficult/frustrating at first. I didn't like the main music.

Thanks for sharing your game!

I really the graphics and art style - and like the shifting concept. Like others have said, I found it very hard - and I think that's mostly because it's hard to understand what form the game 'wants' you to be in at any time?

Well done!

Very difficult. I think there needs to be a introduction of the powers as it is very confusing. Also the shadow platforms and normal platforms are almost indistinguishable.

Good artwork and animation. I think there is a good idea at the core here, it's just too hard to get into!

Very interesting. Also very hard for me. Perfect graphics and animation. Why did you opt out of sounds? Good job, old-skool!

I understand why it needed a long animation-time but I do agree it could be a bit shorter, very hard though

Very difficult, took a bit to figure out some things. Fun, though. Once I had things down, I quite enjoyed myself.

I'm really not much of a fan of 2D art but this game just looks really really good! It's very hard though.

Really a very well done game. Perhaps a bit too hard. Could really use a tutorial, since there is a lot going on. An entertaining innovation on the platformer concept.

The idea is fun but I wish the life was more understandable specially in shadow form and I agree with the rest to me the game feels a bit difficult and I didn't like the main music but the art was nice and fitting =)

This was a tricky but satisfying one. Even after I figured out how I needed to win, it still took me forever. Including one time where I tried to jump to the exit, pressed space by mistake and killed myself with that one too many use of my powers. Speaking of which: Perhaps a little more clarity on what constitutes a skill use would be useful. I think it was dashing and attacking that did it, but I'm not 100% sure.

Wow, it's a really interesting game and very well done. Really enjoyed it, but I confess I'm stuck while trying to push the third button. The art is great and impressive for this amount of time.
It was confusing at the beginnning even with instructions, especially figuring out the platforms for each form of the character. I didn't give up because the art was so good. Loved the monks. :p

I enjoyed this and wanted to continue playing even though it had a high difficulty. I liked the idea behind it. I enjoyed the art the most.

It's game is hard! But is very fun to play it, though. Very interesting concept, you should explore it more. Congrats.

Could you please tell us in which engine it was created and especially how you did you achieve those light effects? Thanks. =]

First, grievances: It felt silly that continuous exposure to light felt less dangerous than brief multiple exposures (maybe a health bar of sorts would help?). And that's really all I can come up with for complaints.
edit: the speed of the monk by the far right button was super frustrating.

Everything else was amazing! The art is great, I love the animations, the dithering in the light with the chromatic aberration looked rad, the music and the sound effects worked well with the feel of the game, and I enjoyed the difficulty. Combined with the aesthetic, even though it was hard it made me want to try again and figure it out. Probably spent an hour trying to beat it! Congrats!
edit: After maybe two hours of head bashing I beat it. Yay!

Sometimes I forgot the controls in the different forms but it's a pretty cool game mechanic! I think the game is not to difficult. You have to watch and learn, like in "older games". The artstyle is lovely. Great entry!
