Small World God by Pecolyte

Act as god of this little map!Create life on it, make them evolve,and meet the requirements to reach the final goal!
There's hint on the right. If you want to see the description of map tiles, try rightclick.
I think I had planned it too big. It's not quite finished, just playable. There's no sound, much to adjust and beautify but I simply don't have enough time. There may be bugs unfixed, too, and sorry about that.

If you got stuck or confused, here's the guide:
Place "life seed" in water, which will produce primitive life, and will unlock "light";
Place light on primitive life, they'll evolve into algae, this unlocks "earth";
Also, when primitive lives are close to algae, they're likely to evolve into fish. Fish will go toward food, which is algae and pirmitive life. With food they'll breed.
Use earth to build some place, use light to guide algae near earth, it will evolve into grass. This unlocks "rain".
Note that grass and algae dies without light, so keep the light on.
When fish are close to grass and there is no other food around in water, they'll evolve into animal on the ground.
Animal act the same as fish, but with grass as food.
Using rain on grass makes grass evolve into woods.
All steps above is a pure loss of your god power, so be careful.
If all above is done, horde and altar will be unlocked. Horde gives eternal light close to it.
When fish, animal and woods are nearby, horde will get resource from them, which also make them disappear.
Altar will use the resource of the nearest horde and restores your god power.
With enough resources horde will upgrade into village, and unlocks farm and mine.
Village will also collect resources from farm and mine, and will then upgrade into city.
With three cities, the laboratory will be unlocked. You can beat the game by placing a laboratory.

I can imagine that this game could also work very well on mobile. I would like to play a more polished version, maybe with some sound effects?
I actually cleared it without needing the guide above, feeling very proud :-)
Thanks for the comment! Rather busy recently, sorry for the late feedback!
There surely would need some work to make this game neat, including sound effect and many other things. The problem is I don't have enough time to do this until June, by when the judge would have been over. This is a great pity, I know. Anyway thanks a lot for the comment!
Thanks for the comment! Added the WebGL link!
Good job!
I do have one pretty major complaint though, needing to keep replacing light. Half the time was spent trying to figure out the next stage (the fun part), but the other half of the time was just click-spamming light. Should you make a post-compo version, I think fixing that detail would go a long way.
I love god games, and this one is quite complete for a compo !
Of course it lacked a bit of audio, but it's not that bad.
Maybe you should give some more hints in the descriptions of what you can build/do, and in my humble opinion, this game need a time system like years or days, and then you could make costs per amount of times !
Of course these are only my ideas !
Great job anyway !
This was fun, very simple, classic RTS mechanics. At some point, most of the gameplay involved spam clicking light everywhere, which was kind of annoying. The idea of evolving more and more complex life forms while maintaining optimal conditions works well in this format. The UI could be made more efficient, and the whole thing could be polished more, but for a compo entry, this is a really great and finished product! Congrats! :smile:
And about the post-compo one, I think it would be after the judge, June, maybe, If i had time.
At first I designed something like eternal light. but then I gave it to the human sattle points, but it doesn't workout very well.
