Description

Satan is at it again! As a professional gambler, Satan approached you and offered you the card game of your life. Of course, you had to accept. You quickly learn, however, that Satan's card game also involves guns, bombs, and poison. You must slaughter as many of Satan's demons as you can before you succumb to death to cause him as much harm as you can.

It is probably obvious, but the genres we mixed were card game and top-down shooter.

Controls

WASD - Move your character. There are two move modes that can be selected from the menu.

Mouse - Aim your weapon.

Click - Activate the selected weapon.

ESC - Bring up the in-game menu.

1-4 - Activate the selected card

Card Types

Health - Heals you

Pistol - Single shot per click with a delay

SMG - Auto fire, hold the mouse button down

Bomb - Self-explanatory, but be careful about the distance. It will hurt you too!

Poison - Creates a poison cloud that stays for a while

A health card activates automatically when selected and is then discarded. Bomb and poison cards are single-use. Once used they are discarded. SMG and Pistol are timed cards. However, all cards, including bomb and poison, are discarded five seconds after activation.

Enemies are divided into waves and get harder with each wave.

We hope you enjoy playing this game as much as we have enjoyed making it.

The work was divided up as follows

James - Coding, Scripting, and 1 graphic!

Anthony - Most graphics and particle systems

Cameron - Remaining graphics, Sound FX, and Music

Tools Used

Unity 2017.3.1f1

Gimp

Bosca Ceoil

Bfxr

Notes about the WebGL Version

Please note: We have come to notice that the sound fx seem harsher and louder in the WebGL version than in a standalone. We did nothing different and this is likely due to either the Unity Web Engine or the browser. Before starting a WebGL game, we highly recommend reducing the volume on the sound fx to about half. Thanks!

I love the music, so cheerful and contrasting to THE MASSACRE OF DEMONS!
PS: Your title here is wrong (set to LD41 Game)

@blinkenlights, thanks for the comment! And also thanks for the note about the name. That was the placeholder I created to be able to vote on themes and forgot to change it. It is fixed now.

Neat little game! Enjoyed the overall theme.
Using WASD & 1-4 wasnt ideal though.

The idea is pretty cool, though I have to agree with the previous commenter that the controls were clunky

It looks like a fun game but it was pretty hard to play on an Azerty keyboard and maybe it would be better to use different keys for card select, maybe with the mouse weel?

I'm not very good at it but I really love the game! Such a great concept (especially for the theme!)

If you have a second to take a look at our game I'd appreciate it :)

Pretty cool, actually would have like more feedback cause I wasn't sure whether or not I was hitting people at some point but the pitch is really good and the game is fun !

I liked the way the game plays but the card aspect isn't really that significant since your enemies don't have cards and they all just shoot the same weapons. I think that there is a lot of potential for this idea though.

Nice solid game! I enjoyed the temporary nature of your abilities from the cards. Game play was fun but not much to the game. You could definitely expound upon this and make something cool! A few other points:
* I enjoyed the music at first but it got old fast
* The layout of the saloon was very repetitive just making it smaller would help
* The enemy AI was fun for a while but were easy to outsmart

All in all it was pretty fun to play! thank you!
