LOVE the graphics - It feels like there is good depth with how you made it move different speeds. Fun sound effect. Enjoyed playing around:) great job!

I can't find the right buttons for the player 2's control on my keyboard. The melee attacks are really good. It is a good game but it seems that you guys haven't made it feature completed as planned. Innovative mix of genres!

Hmm I really want to give this a go, but for some reason I can't seem to get past the menu where it asks me for language. I can't seem to press any button on my keyboard that accepts and my xbox 360 controller doesn't appear to do anything either. Only the up and down arrows work, switching between the languages. Any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks you all for the compliments. And yes, the game have bad controls, no dialogues etc... because we didn't finished it (we posted it approximately 10 seconds before the finish line^^). But don't worry, normally the true version of the game without any glitch or problems will be here in a few hours i think.

@Escape Thank you very much.

@Skyc @goat-toaster-games Don't worry, now all the glitches are fixed and you can play with your Xbox 360 controller. Check out the "Final version" link. Now, the version you played is the "Alpha version".

I hope you'll enjoy it !

I like this concept but I found it really hard to knock the opponent into the tree, even when we were jumping around and actively trying to be knocked into the tree. I also think that losing all of your heart meter when you fail a question is a bit harsh. We played for close to ten minutes without actually getting to talk to the girl. With all that out said, however, I think that the art and audio was well done, and I appreciate the french translation. I think if you game players an incentive to jump or made it easier to knock the opponents into the trees it would make for shorter matches and ultimately a more enjoyable experience. Still, cool game and nice work!

@morrilet Thanks for the feedback :) Did you try to load the fist by holding the fight button? The power of the punch is exponential with the duration of the load. Moreover, you can orientate the punch with the joystick.

@Julink Ah! Okay, I was charging the punch but I had no idea that you could angle it. Good to know!

Well that was a weird hyper realistic twist in the end! I like your art, the background looks like there was alot of effort put into! The combat feels a little clunky but nothing to worry too much about. I really enjoyed playing this with my friend! Well done!

The game is a really funny and innovative combination of 2 genres, so it definitely fits the theme. I would like to see a game like this further developed. I felt there were a couple of issues. Having to answer the girl's questions during the fight is kind of overkill. You could've easily done something like have a special move meter that you fill to activate a special move, and if it hits, you get more love, but if it's blocked, your opponent gets a fraction of the love instead. Also, having to actually fight over the middle spot to answer the questions is, again, overkill. It's just too hard in practice when fighting with another player. It took me several minutes to actually learn the right answers and get past the 1st girlfriend, even though I was just playing by myself. If I was playing against someone else, we would never finish. This is only made worse by the fact that the mapping of keys to gamepad buttons is not very obvious. I had to try all the answers multiple times to learn the correct ordering of keys. And finally, overall, I didn't find your game itself to overstep any bounds or be offensive, but the way you worded your description ("and probably seduce her") just kind of made me cringe. I'm the least politically correct person you'll ever meet. But that's like the logical extreme of what the crying feminists always complain about when it comes to the treatment of women in media. I think most of that stuff is BS, but just the wording of your description really shocked me instantly. This is coming from a guy who submitted a game about prolonging WWIII for profit, lol. Just make sure that you tailor your jokes for your medium. If you meant it sarcastically, which I'm assuming you did, you need to realize that sarcasm doesn't always come across in text. Female gamers are a substantial market demographic now, and unless you're looking to exclude them from your target market, that's the kind of stuff you should be aware of.

@david-boeger Hi David, thanks for your detailed feedback !
Concerning the buttons, the keyboard version is quite hard and non-logical. We will change the way answers are displayed to match the Xbox controller X - A - B, and keyboard 1 - 2 - 3 and R - T - Y in this very order.
About the questions during the fight, we tried the game here with some friends and it's quite feasible : you have to punch the other player in the tree leaves to block him a few seconds, then you can talk with the girl. To do this, you can load (by holding the attack button) and orientate your attack (with the joystick, arrows or W-A-S-D).
The first time you play the game, it's hard to find the right answers but that's part of the fun. You need to try again / to observe your opponent's answers.
Concerning the description, well, the game is obviously sarcastic, but the wording "and probably seduce her" was not meant to be offensive (actually we are french, we might have written our thought the wrong way). Anyway, we modified it to "try to seduce her". Is it more suitable ?
Thanks again ! We will have a look to your game soon :)

@Julink I think your updated description is definitely better. I had a feeling it was a language thing, because I noticed the game was also in French. Again, I'm not one to get offended, and maybe I just read it wrong the first time, but reading it now definitely sounds better. Hopefully I will get to try the game with a friend soon, because I love 2-player fighting games, and this is definitely a funny twist on it!

@julink sorry I figured it was a post-compo version. If it's just a bugfix probably best to replace the alpha link completely.

10/10 just for Ludum Dare dialogue option xD. Enjoying visuals, that parallax effect with the camera movement is so pro. However I can't play it with another player :( Good job!

We'll TRY to make an AI to make the game accessible to everyone but we don't know if we'll succeed because making an AI is a difficult thing.

This was such a great take on the theme, I'd considered a fighting/dating sim as well but I'm no good at fighters haha. I liked the dialogue with the girls and I liked the story between levels about him breaking up with the girl and returning to the park haha! It made me laugh. Nice submission!

We had a lot of fun playing your game!

Multiplayer games are always very interesting to see and play, and I have to say that the most fun mechanic of your game is throwing the opponent in a tree! Maybe you could improve the combat system to highlight these moments ( because it took us a while to understand how the upper punch works), probably creating a more complex and responsive combat system would definitely improve the tree stuck mechanic.
The concept is also really cool, fighting for the girl is pretty fun, congrats for the idea!

Keep up the good work!
