Spring Clean – DO NOT CROSS by blinry

A cute, geometric strategy game. It's our sixth, third, second, and first Ludum Dare game, respectively! Original score by @winniehell.
Spring cleaning time! But be careful to protect your increasing number of cats from your roomba by drawing lots and lots of barrier tapes!

The second part is making paths for the rumba, I don't agree with other people that the behavior of the rumba is bad, I think it adds to the game-play. I actually find it quite funny to get mad at the rumba when it turns JUST before the last piece of dirt :D
Visually the game is very well made and has nice and coherent assets. Overall cute-level is 10/10. Audio complements the visuals and pushes the cute-meter to 11/10.
One does wonder though if we should all pitch in and get the poor girl a normal vacuum cleaner, because this rumba buisiness is not really working out :D
All in all, I had lots of fun playing this game! Great work guys!
Good idea, graphics and sound!
Lots of fun, please let me use WASD next time and not the arrow keys!

This was good fun, I found that since the cats moved predictably you could move them around and bunch them up to move as a single cat cluster, which was much easier to restrict with tape.
Well done!
* It was a bit weird that you could kind of move cats between zones but not very predictably. I suppose it wasn't really meant to work?
* If you put a lot of tape on the floor it is a bit annoying finding out under which piece there's still dirty floor. But maybe that's my fault for putting it all around and everywhere.
* It someways felt too easy/kind that I could pause the cleaning robot. It might be more fun if you could only pick it up to make it temporarily safe?
The graphics are cute too, but the room could be a bit more decorated (rugs, furniture, doors, windows). The critters could use animated walk cycles. And pixel sizes should be more consistent.
On the first level, it's a simple matter of:
1. Turn on Roomba.
2. Pick up cat.
3. Wait. Then wait some more.
Of course, that stops working soon... And because the Roomba is so stupid, it's as much about herding the roomba as about herding cats :) My main gripe with the gameplay is that it's pretty random, especially in the later levels. But I can hardly blame you for that, because it fits in very well with the theme (and indeed, our own game has a similar thing).
Sometimes the roomba would get stuck spinning in place if I paused it and restarted it in a tight corridor, but that might just be intended.
Some problems:
the movement sometimes is floating that makes it hard to lacate the girl just above the tape.
I think the pick-up action for the cat helps to execuate players' strategy but in most time after dropping a cat it just wonder around back fast, which makes the picking up idea non-sense. I didn't try to move cats to a point far away but if my strategy is to split the room into 6 parts then this dropping mechanic doesn't work.
