My Little Corruption by Peter Jonsson

2.jpg

You are a wisp of corruption inside a fragile computer. Wreak havoc in a fast-paced bullet-hell like game. The further you get - and the more corrupted the system becomes - the harder everything will be!

Move with W/S or up and down arrow keys (configurable). Phase jump through obstacles with spacebar.

There are a few powerups - some are good for you, others are bad. You will have to figure that out for yourself though.

Warning: Contains flashing imagery.

Nice job! I couldn't quite figure out how to "absorb the corruption" but it was a well put together game. I appreciate that you took the time to put in things like a settings menu. I found myself wishing I could turn off that black noise overlay though, it got kind of distracting.

The verticle shift felt a bit jaring for me (it was tough to get the fine controll i needed to dodge some attacks), but a VERY neat game. Also being incredibly picky now - It would have been neat to see some computer iconography in the background (It would have tied in your theme/story nicely). Thank you for submitting this game, it was fun. Good luck

I can remove that text. It's the standard thing that Itch.io does. @jespersb.

Great job! I love the art style, the music and the gameplay! The controls are a bit too sensitive for me but that's a minor complaint. I didn't quite understand the absorbtion of the corruption but the game is enjoyable and yet challanging. I also like the added settings menu(even though the master volume seemingly doesn't work).

Nice game. I didn't quite figure out which things were good for me and which I should avoid, but I guess I would figure it out if I played for a bit longer. Otherwise everything worked very nicely.

Very nicely presented, and fun enough for a while, but eventually you have so many bullets firing so fast that you're basically untouchable as they destroy every enemy bullet before it gets to you. I liked the idea of switching to a corrupt mode to turn enemy bullets into corruption, but past that the gameplay felt kinda flat. Nice music and really cool aesthetic though.

Simple mechanics and nice art style. Good music. It was a bit hard to steer the wisp, too sensitive controls. Enjoyable game but gets a bit dull after a while.

Very nice game. I liked he grainy texture, but I think a little bit of acceleration on the steering would be nice, as the controls feel way too sensitive.

Overall a good game, although i've felt that there was too much screenshake, i know it's a good visual effect, but my eyes felt some unease after a few minutes of playing, i've screwed that too in my own game. I think 50% decrease in shaking amplitude would look good enough and would not screw the whole effect thing.

Yeah i agree to the controls, a bit of acceleration on the move would be nice.

Good job on the game though :) I like the minimalistic design and the intro atmosphere!

Phew! That's one tough game (Or maybe I just suck, idk). Also, gotta love that Finale music ammarite? (I use Finale Printmusic for music). Anyhoo, great game. Visuals were nice and there were really nice effects that made the game feel more professional. I just wish I could move back and forth rather than just up and down. I realize that's what the phase mechanic is for, but it was really unpredictable and got me into more trouble most of the time. Great submission though, it'll be cool to see in the future.

I used [Abundant Music](https://pernyblom.github.io/abundant-music/index.html) for composing. It is mostly randomized, but I did a lot of manual parameter setting just in order to make it right.

It was hard for me to tell what is going on, meaning, there's too many things happening too quickly for me to know what to do. I understand the instructions are given right before the level start, with pictures too, but once the game starts I'm not sure what my objective is and I guess I'm supposed to dodge everything? Still, looks like a solid project. Just wish I could understand it a little more :)

Chaotic, fun game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5HW0fYwhN4
