Wood Womb by sheep42

Wood Womb is the story of a man named Schrodinger who stays confined to his room and his cat May who really wants Schrodinger to go outside and experience the world.
We think the theme applies two-fold as Schrodinger's world is conceptually small, plus the actual game world is small. :)

I'm on a Mac using Firefox.
I did notice a bug on my friend's Mac where the game took a bit longer than usual to start up, but it's tough for me to troubleshoot as I don't have a Mac lying around to test with.
The control at first seem a little off for me but when I know the objective of the game it was funny. The cat always jump in bed look hilarious.
But the crash sound sometimes still occurred when nothing moving or sometimes it's only a small crash it was too big.
I was hoping to see the owner do something with the cat when the game end :D
The crash sound happens every time an object hits the floor or a wall and it's a little overboard but we felt like having it make a lot of noise fit the feel of the game better than not having it make enough sound.
To be honest we wanted to have the owner do more at the end of the game but we were trying to have this submitted by Monday night and we ran out of time and settled on the ending you saw. :)
The visuals were nice and that credits song was just the perfect score for that weird little title.
cheers~
Not sure why the jump broke for you, but I appreciate the feedback. We had a number of problems right before submission and I wouldn't be surprised if some bugs with my layers for ground detection got past us. If I can replicate it and fix it I will post an update. Glad you had a good time anyway! :)
This game felt solid, the controls were responsive and behaved as expected after being explained. there was a few times where objects got stuck inside the cat but that's to be expected when you do physics at high speeds :) The art style was nice and it all fit together really well.
The only complaint I have is I wish there was more, like maybe the cat had to get him all the way outside, or maybe lead him around the house getting him ready to go out.
In any case I really enjoyed it, I'll try to remember to come back and rate when that's open
I'll definitely rate you guys when voting is open :)
As for glitches just the fact that I can win by clawing the same pizza box is kind of a bummer, but not too serious, who can resist going all out. I also experienced the no jump bug, not sure what triggered it, not that detrimental.
But the one that takes the cake is being propelled by Schrodingers arms, landing on top of the game screen and walking on the letterboxing.
Credits music and name weren't very tonally consistent with the rest of the game I have to say, which I felt was more slapstick.
All in all cool entry, its a bit rough, but its short enough that it doesnt bother me much.
The original concept for the game was less slapstick and during development it evolved more into what you played, but we decided to stick with the name idea as it provided some initial inspiration to the small plot that we had. Hopefully it didn't hurt your overall experience too much!
I'm a big cat fan and I love mine but oh boy there destruction percent is at 80.
Cool, small and ridiculously funny. 10/10 paws.
And I like the hypno toad!
One of the best ideas I've seen.
The arts are nice aswell, did you use spine for the animations?
Fantastic job
Also, the music at the end was great as well.
:laughing::cat::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'd like to play it again if that's fixed :)
@pschichtel Thanks for the feedback! There actually is music, but there was a bug with my soundmanager script where the music would die if you clicked off of the browser window. I've since fixed that bug, but sorry for the diminished initial experience!
@earthcollapse You are in luck if you want to try again, I believe I have actually fixed the jump bug! Either way thanks for playing. :)
Maybe a indication of what can you distroy in the room will be fine
A few more levels would be nice.
I liked the graphics a lot, and the camera movements when you scratch everything :D
