Tosser by Mik3

[raw]
made by Mik3 for LD 40 (COMPO)

The gameplay is quite simple: You stand next to a conveyor belt, grab items from it and toss them into appropriate slots. To win the game, you have to do it fast enough to not drown yourself in clutter.

Thought Mortal Kombat would test my might, i was wrong. It is the most intense basketball game i've ever played. oddly fun honestly! you could make visuals a bit better. its metalic setting is raised to maximum which makes colors a bit weird to distinguish when on low settings. nevertheless pretty decent game!

The team responsible for the Dark Souls series should hire you. This is fun, but so, so, difficult.

Intro and you-fail text are instant 10/10.

I'd say it takes a while to get into, but once you're in the rhythm, it achieves a steady flow. I imagine this concept would be even more flow-inducing in VR. I like it more than the drilling game from last LD, I think your game design feels more "streamlined" with this one.

surprisingly addictive, the sound effects are on point, making me want to hear that ding again and again! I thought I was doing well at one point but then the piles got worse and it became a clamour for cleanliness!

good job pretty fun game

I decided to just keep all the gold and rubys and diamonds. I lost the game but now I'm rich so did I really lose? 5 stars.

interesting game. Simple concept but works well, the gems build up faster than you realize.

Nice entry. Throwing the stuff felt nice and smooth. Nice with audial feedback on the throws. Levels, music and a scoring system would make this an awesome game! As a colorblind, I couldn't see the difference between the diamond and the silver chute. Had to trial and fail on that to find out. Other than that, great game!

I had a fun time throwing stuff. I like throwing stuff.

Maybe having a more concise and attainable goal would have been nice. Also having moving targets would have improved the experience since at the end you can throw all pieces almost without looking. Other than that this was quite fun and oddly satisfying. I felt real good when I mastered it :)

Waw, that was a long timer lol. Got a little dizzy going back and forth. Simple game but surprisingly fun and deceptively difficult, I thought.

Colors could use adjustment to make it easier to tell what needs to go where. In the end I just ended up launching everything into the gold bin cuz I had too much stuff and not enough time to deal with it!

Hilarious game, difficult at first try, but completed it on the second try. I love the execution of the theme; the clutter makes you rush while you have to maintain a steady flow. I think you can make this into a more full experience, and like someone above said it would be good for VR. Also, was the idea of not being able to move around intentionally left out? I think running through your clutter, making stuff fly over the place, would be an even more hilarious addition. Great job man, one of the best games I've played so far!

Pretty good... I had to really how high to toss so they make their mark. Updated graphics and some intense music would make this great. Congrats!

This was a cool idea, and you did the most important thing right -- it was really good about picking up the object I wanted to pick up. Oh god it would have been frustrating if you hadn't nailed that part!!

If I could tweak one thing I would remove the metallic surface, as I strugged to differentiate three of the colors, and two pretty badly. Def got some of the "wrong hole" sound.

Overall I enjoyed this one. Simple but effective. Nice work!

A simple and effective idea, I liked it! kinda hard to know the difference between the metallic stuff in the beginning.

Out of all the games I've tested so far, this is the one where I'm the most like: "Oh god, oh god, the more I have, the worse it is!". So theme: Check.
Some more feedback on what I'm doing while I'm doing it would make the game way more fun, though. Still a very nice entry!

Nice concept and well executed :)

I like the graphics, the different kinds of objects and also the physics that work just as expected (no unpredictable behaviour)

The only thing I would improve about your game is to make the cursor hidden and lock in the center of the screen - I was testing that with 2 screens and it was terrible when I hit the left mouse button by mistake :(

But nothing that would decrease the rating :) Great job!

This game gets really stressful at the end! Good work on this, works pretty nicely!

Best game i've played this ld so far. Very addicting and competitive, i played more than an hour trying to improve myself. If you want to imrpove this i'd recommand to make the targets moving instead of just increasing the game's speed since it gets sometimes impossible to pick up all the object when the game gets faster.

Turns out I'm a really awful tosser :D Loving the name of the game, and oh boy does it get manic! I really like how similar the colours of the items are, you just don't have the time to judge what the hell is what, and just have to chance it... and then miss the bucket miserably, great fun game, such simple use of the theme, fantastic!
