tl;dr download link

As you drill your way down this unknown planet, you mine the precious minerals residing in its core. But you're not alone! The terrible noise has drawn several hordes of hostile monsters who are thirsting for blood, and will even tear your drill apart to restore peace to their homeworld. Zap those xenomorphs into the xeno-afterlife and claim your bounty!

"They just keep poppin' up outta nowhere!"

But remember, this is the Free to Play Edition! So if that wasn't enough, you'll have to contend with the constant onslaught of Comic Sans-riddled "pop-ups" plucked straight from the late 90s. Don't let too many linger, or you might just RUN OUT OF SPACE.

"We're getting overrun!"

I thought maybe just turn on sticky keys, how bad can that be? I have never been so wrong in my life.

Lots of enemies, can't tell if it's unbeatable or if I'm just bad

It was a pretty fun game, but I didn't really have much of a challenge. Maybe I didn't go far enough.

It was a fun game with a very genius ideal, but I have the same thought about giving the game more challenge, maybe it should be faster. One thing I dont understand that I've played for 10 minutes but the resource at top right not growing at all, I dont know why. Still a good game and the art was nice tho

Panic was had, as frustrating as real popups. Also had my real sticky keys dialogue come up lol.

It was a pretty good idea. It was fun to play but I think it could have been more complete. The gears and stuff didn't seem to do anything and I'm not sure if that is a bug or an incomplete feature.

Holy team size! I've been there before and I know it's quite the challenge coordinating all that so props so whoever lead this. Really solid art both in-game and in the popups, and even the subtle motion in the main menu shows your attention to detail. I'm curious what you guys had planned for the full game, were the resources for just upgrading your avatar or some actual basebuilding? I imagine the former cuz managing a base with all that flying around would be pretty nasty. Good job overall, I'm sure you guys knew where to tighten up gameplay but just didn't get around to it.

Haha it was quite the challenge, though most of the issues were just syncing everybody's code up with each other's without conflicts. We had a bunch of upgrades planned for Scrap (the cog resource) - stronger guns, faster reloads, quicker drilling, a drone that follows you, etc. The gem resource was there to make pop ups more manageable (reduce number, speed up countdowns, 'ad-bomb' screen clear power up). The minerals are your final score used for the leaderboard system (sadly not in).

Thanks for playing ^^

Really solid entry, I enjoyed playing a lot! The popups were hilarious, and as far as the theme goes, was something I have not yet seen in other games. The art is fantastic all around and I enjoyed the diversity of environment, enemies, etc. The only thing I wish it had was more audio on interactions (shooting, enemy death, etc). With that, I will say that the layered audio between the music and popups gave me a strong feeling of not just running out of screen space, but an overall hectic feeling around the entire game which was a nice touch. The team did a lot of work, great job!

I was looking forward to a new Game from you guys.
I really like the overall concept, the art, music and mechanics of this entry.
However i think there are a few bugs. Besides those that are supposed to be there. :D
When I kill the xenomorphs, they only spawn gears which will not add up to the score in the top right.
The gun will not fire at the mouse direction, rather slightly besides the cursor.
Maybe that's beacause of my weird screen resolution (2560 x 1080).
But because of the installer I was unable to choose 1920 x 1080 or somthing thats 16:9.
After I've reached floor 7 I died, the game told me i had 9999 of every item and I was lead to the leaderboard, which only had "-" everywhere.

Besides all that: The overall feel is really nice and the idea with the popups is very original.
I am looking forward to giving this another try, once you fixed that. :)

@awesomealliterationalliance Yup, we worked really hard on this game and unfortunately did not have time to fix all the bugs. We do plan on finishing up this game but some of us are very busy especially those working on the UE4 jam. But if you want to see a new and better version it is comming

Hey @awesomealliterationalliance ! UI developer here =) The leaderboard UI had all of the needed backend coding but just needs to be implemented, along with the game over screen, and the addition of scrap being added. Sadly we didn't get to finish these minor bugs but we will when we wrap up the game after the jam. thank you for playing and keep an eye out for an updated release!

Really cool graphics! I love the annoying ads, really well inspired XD!I only saw one sort of enemy so maybe I am just too bad, but I wished I could have seen the ones shown on the game page they look pretty awesome as well. Good job!

It felt quite broken, but aside from that it was a bunch of fun and was entertaining aside from major flaws.
