This game is combining classic Run and Gun gameplay with a Racing Game, the goal is not to get the higher score but to get to the finish line before your opponents !

Game Detail

The game is an horizontal scroller. You start with 5 other "allies" that will run against you to get to the end of the level first. There are also enemies shooting at you to try to prevent you to get to the end of the level.

All shootings will not kill you but slow you down. There are also some obstacles along the road like crates or barbed wire that you will have to deal with.

Dev Details

First time working together with this team, first time using unity. What a bumpy road it was :smile: We ended up a bit overwhelmed by all the features we wanted to cram into the game: NPC running the race, shooting, and mostly character animation (some sweet fuel for future nightmare). The experience was tense and fun at the same time and we leveled up for the next Ludum Dare

Loved the animations and the background art was great! My only complaint is that I couldn't figure out what I was doing. Shooting enemies didn't seem to kill them or stop them from shooting and getting shot didn't seem like it was slowing me down. Overall still an enjoyable game. Nice work!

Hey everybody, i'm one of dev of this game. We have not finished this game. Our first idea was to mix run&speed game with a war/shoot game, so the shoot just slow enemy and don't kill them. But many thing are missing.
Thank you for yours congrats' on ours graphics. We have 2 talented designers and 1 animator on this project but only 1 programmers, reason why the game is nice but incomplete.

I really liked the audio and art of the game!! I found few bugs with the camera but since you said its unfinished its okay!! good work guys!!

I love the detail in the background, and your animations are really smooth. Shooting doesn't seem to do much, and it's easy to win just by running forwards and jumping over obstacles. Still, nice job!

Yo! Great job! The animations are pretty good and the art in general very simple but so funny :D Maybe you should check the visual feedback when the main character is shooting to an enemy (when you hit them, do they stop firing?). Otherwise keep working on it!!

The artwork is seriously good; awesome work! The other runners could use some work though; as they kept getting stuck on each other during the start and it felt less like a race and more just me running alone through a battlefield. Overall a pretty good result for your first time working together. Keep up the good work!

Hey, Nice little game you got here. At first I kinda did not understand what is the shooting for since there was no health and such but yeah, only later I got that this is not about killing the enemy haha :D. Yet again, good job. Also, music is great for such theme!

Hey everyone, thx for all the feedbacks ! I'm for the team that made the game and I'll just leave here some insight about the game :kissing_smiling_eyes:

First, the shooting part was supposed to have some visual feedbacks from the characters getting shot since they don't die, but we didnt have time to implement it.

And about the other runners, we decided that it could be more fun to radomize their behavior but the result ain't that great since they sometimes can't even finish the level. We'll fix those 2 things in a post mortem version in a few days.

The idea, music and graphics is all super good. The gameplay is to some degree working, but it is way to easy to win. I would like to see a more polished version of the game. Overall a fine LD game. Well done.

Not really original because there are lots of games like this game. I don't really know what the gun is for because i couldn't kill or whatever anyone. Some camera bugs, too. But good work. Keep working on it !

I like details in animation like when enemy fire bullet at that time character hat is goes up and push back little.

As other comment suggest I also found camera bug but that's fine.

Background art is also great.

The mood of the game is really nice, but I agree that figuring out what to do wasn't really easy :D
Also I encountered a bug - The camera didn't move down after I jumped sometimes, so I didn't see the ground and half of my character.

the idea is really good, but i had some problems with the gameplay. shooting appear to have no effect one enemies and ignore if the character is jumping or not. sometimes I got stuck on the floor and start to move really slowly.the art is nice but some obstacles appear to be just background elements.

Graphics Animations Environment and the whole art of this game is amazing! I would expect more on the gameplay though I don't know what. But ok not much time during a hackathon. But really well done!!!

Very nice idea, would be great to see what you can develop it into! About more critical feedback: that background might be great, but that dimms a bit the foreground where the action is, so I think it'd be great if you reconsider balancing your contrasts and palettes, so that it will be more balanced (That doesn't mean I didn't love that background sunset stuff, sure I did!). Also part of the problem, look up something called "the squint test" - basically it is very difficult to distinguish which objects should be avoided (or are in any way important for the gameplay) when they're the same visual level as everything else, so the crates or barbed wires should stand out instead of blend in (as they pretty much do now) so they can be distinguished even when player squints her eyes. Besides, the position of the crates relative to player's looks like they're not even in the player's way. Player always needs to be sure which objects are just background and which should she avoid or interact with.

Overall I liked your game very much, I think the idea could be expanded to a great game and also it looks like your team is capable of very neat production quality, but still you need to keep an eye on very important aspects of the gameplay that could potentially harm the outcome! Good luck with it and thank you very much for the experience!

Cool idea and good implementation! The graphics and animations are amazing and set a really bleak mood. The intro helps a lot, too! At first I was confused about shooting, but I figured it's only use is shooting your allies. Also, the game is really easy. Only when I waited did I notice I can shoot my allies. Which felt so bad. But also necessary... Ah, you captured the madness of wartime really well. Better than I'd have thought possible for a comical runner game!

Great job for your first team effort!
