LD39 THEME: RUNNING OUT OF POWER

We're back. . . for a try at our sixth LD game. We've come a long way, been around the bend. This time was tough, it pushed us to the brink. We've got a solid team, though life is complex and throws you curve balls. We all knew we wanted to challenge ourselves and LD is always so artistically inspirational. We had a lot of ideas, not at first, they were there though, one idea would take the lead and we had better get aboard because the clock ticks as it does. We needed to open our minds to pulse that is now. It is what it is.

COD3 R1D3R:

Wouldn't you know it--you accidentally left your computer's power cord at the coffee shop and now it's closed and you've got some important code to write. $#*^, your computer is about to run out of power! You've only got a few minutes to type as many characters as you can. Good thing you've got some coffee. It only takes a second to coffee up and it's gonna give you that quick energy boost you need to type more characters before it's too late. Good luck. Maybe if you type enough letters you'll save the planet.

It feels a bit boring. Nice 3D models though.

The web link doesn't seem to work, had to download but ran fine when I got the windows version. It seems weird that in a programming game semicolon doesn't type out, I was just spamming that out of habit.

Wow, it's incredible how accurately you simulated my Ludum Dare experience. Hacking furiously at a keyboard while trying to keep caffeine levels high enough. Of course, the gameplay lacks a real challenge and something to motivate the player. I would suggest not making it time-based and introducing some features allowing the player to interact more with the mechanics, e.g. influence how fast the power runs out, how "efficient" the coding is, etc. In this state, I don't know if I would actually call it a game, since there's no real feedback whether the player is doing well or not. The graphics and mood are fitting, the soundtrack change was a bit sudden but appropriate. I also like the animations and the fact that the monitor actually shows what I'm typing.
So it definitely needs some work, but hey, you made everything yourself in 72 hours, and it works! :D

It's a bit boring, and doesn't seem to have a real goal, but for a concept it's cool! :)

Interesting concept, and it is nice that you went for realistic 3D character with animations, tho the game needs a little bit more than random key hitting, such simplified gameplay could work if there was something spectacular or calming to look at while playing. Pile of clothes on the floor is a nice touch.
