Agent Patissier is a stealth + cooking sim game.

You are a Pattisier (dessert chef) who needs to recover the stolen pages from your grandma’s epic and secret recipes book. They are all in Bonbon Fortress, a big labyrinthine building full of kitchens and people crazy about chocolate and desserts.

capture07.gif

  • Stealth your way in to the rooms and recover the 9 stolen pages.
  • Pick-up ingredients and use them to cook delicious desserts. Combine the 8 basic ingredients and discover new creations.
  • Bait the patrols with your mouth-watering creations and use the opportunity to get deeper into the building.
  • Four different types of enemies with varying behaviours and tastes (Dessert Craver, Chocolate Junkie, Cookie Monster and Dieter)

Played through this with a giant smile on my face. Charming artwork along with a very creative core idea.

This game is awesome! I. had. so. much. fun! And it's beautiful. Kind of reminded me of Hotline Miami, but with delicious cookies.

Awesome work. Great graphics, and a surprising amount of content and mechanics for a 48 hour compo! You are remarkably productive!

It's very nice idea and visuals are really cute, but it really easy. I've never had to use cooking to avoid guards.

That was cool little experience. I kinda suck at cooking so I could only cook 2 things, but trying to figure out recipies was kinda fun, and I appreciate that you dont waste ingredients on failed dishes.
Stealth aspect felt a bit rough because controls were kinda unresponsive due to a bit too much friction on character player. The game is quite challenging and has alot variety for 48 hour game.
Overall, great idea and reasonably well execution :)

@Apple Dash Thanks for your feedback! In some levels that definitely happens, totally true. A couple of levels are quite hard, and others are easy in comparison. There is balance work required, for sure. Not enough time to playtest enough, tweak and balance! Haha

@Kirill Nepomnyaschiy Thanks for the feedback, mate! :) Stealth aspect needs polishing. I completely agree with you. Didn't have enough time to playtest. Only a couple of quick runs on each room, so yeah. There is balancing required, and bugs to be fixed! :P

A novel twist on the theme! Very enjoyable although the camera was a bit harsh at points. I loved the aesthetic of the game; it reminded me a lot of Hotline Miami (the music may have caused that as well). It was interesting testing out all of the different combinations to see what I could make and was overall well polished. As some have suggested you can pass through some of the sections without the use of food but hey, it's 48 hours, it's hard to totally balance and play test in that time. Great job!

Really liked the game. It is amazing what you've accomplished in 48 hours! There are multiple rooms, different enemies, different foods + recipes to explore. And on top of that you've made this amazing artwork! Amazing job!

PS: Also liked the puns :)

Nice work! You had a lot of polished mechanics here, combined with great art, and good music as well. My only major problem with the game was the level design. I believe there were a few levels that necessitated interesting mechanics, but most levels only required basic movement ability. If you were to work on the level design, this could be a fantastic game! Great job!

@Rob White Thanks a lot! ^^ I definitely see the need for tweaking and balancing, but didn't have time for that. That's why some levels are easy, some hard, and sadly food is not always required (which is such a shame and something I will fix!!)

@Chaseplays Thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree with you. Unfortunately on 48 hours couldn't playtest those rooms more than a couple of times each. But I will work on it to fix it! 💪

Love this so much! I love stealth game and Cooking games.. This is just, great! I love how you have to bait them with foods and you have to make the food yourself!

I seconded the Hotline Miami vibe. Love the art, sound, music, and feel of the game. Although I found it to be a bit too easy. I actually didn't do much cooking either, I was able to just about out eyesight everyone. In the last room though, I was being tailed, then I dropped some food and it looked like the enemy got distracted, ate food, then I exited and got the end screen Haha. I also noticed that on my first playthrough, I had used up all my ingredients to make something (wasn't sure what though), and then I got caught. But I was placed back in the same room with all my ingredients gone and I couldn't make anymore stuff. Also, I wasn't too encouraged to make anything as I didn't know what combinations to use, most of the ones I tried didn't make anything. That is when I just stayed out of everyones eye sight to finish the game.

@slunkey Thanks a lot for the feedback! Really appreciate it :) You're totally right, levels need design tweaks (some of them major). Wish I had enough time to make sure that the food mechanic was needed in most rooms so that you can't just eyesight everyone like you did, but 48 hours are 48 hours, hehe :stuck_out_tongue:
The thing about not having the ingredients sure is a lockdown situation completely undesirable! Sorry about that!
About the recipes, I am aware that it is not ideal. Wanted to add a recipe book next to the cooking window that kept track of all your unlocked recipes so that you don't need to rediscover them again and again, but again... time xD. Couldn't implement it, but will work on it for my post LD version!

This is one of the handful of games I've seen so far that I actually found myself getting into and wanting to finish.
Baiting guards with food, clever!
I think this could legitimately be an interesting game outside of LD!

So cool but can be better if you can take recipes in game for do not need try randomly, (Or I can't find it!), so interesting the incompatible genres... steal and cooking, Nice!

Wow !!! Incredible to do that in just 48h and alone ! When I was playing I thought it was posted in JAM. There is everything : an original gameplay, nice graphics, nice audio and it's funny. The only think that bothered me was the fact that I didn't have any option when the guard spotted me, I just had to stop moving and wait for them to catch me.
Amazing job !

25. Apr 2018 · 23:26 UTC
@polegar Thanks a lot for the nice comments! Technically you can do something when guards spot you (you can throw at them the food that they like and they'll stop following you), but in order for that to work better I should have made the recipes stay with you **after** you are caught and need to start again. Otherwise, it gets a bit tedious. I'll fix that though. :D Again, thanks!

That was fun :) The game is very complete, art is great. It was a little strange to have no penalty for being caught (you actually get an advantage since you keep the ingredients). I would have liked to see more situations where you *have* to bait people with food in order to advance, I think I only had to do this once in the beginning. Regardless, it was an entertaining game, great job :)

Good graphics and audio, as well as a nice combination of the genres. The controls could be a easier, and the tutorial tips in the background of the level were a bit hard too read sometimes. But I had a lot of fun playing the game, good job!

26. Apr 2018 · 13:09 UTC
@Vasco Freitas Thanks for the feedback! :) That thing about not *having* to bait is my fault. No time to properly tweak level designs made up for that. :P The being caught part I need to tweak too. You lose receipts and keep ingredients. Maybe it should be the other way around...

@tomdeal Thanks for playing! I think you're right about controls, not the first person to tell me that. I'll definitely review that part. :)

Really like the idea of the two genres. But it's not well executed. I managed to beat the game without cooking at all, and the stealth mechanics are really easy to cheese.

I did really like the look of the game. The only downside is probably the dark text over a dark background, it doesn't really work that well.

Also: "Hey, you weirdough" was amazing.
