:pencil: Description

Are you ready for an action-packed, survival-horror game with a twist at every corner? Good! Here at Secret Sushi Games TM we are all about that ~~(but this isn't that kind of game)~~
Collect the sushi in the trays and send them off to the customers; but don't let too much sushi go through on it's own. Free sushi? That's bad for business!

See how long you can last and collect that sushi!

 Inspiration (potential spoilers)

We got this idea from an old TV series we both used to watch called Drake and Josh. In the show the mcs have to work in a sushi boxing factory(?).
And much like in our game the conveyor belt gets faster and faster. We aimed to give the players the same effect as was seen in the show: a slow build of panic as the sushi flies by at increasing rates.
I feel like we could definitely have made the build up a bit slower but with the addition of the surprise we felt this was an alright pace

:mousethreebutton: Quick Controls

Use your mouse to click and drag objects, collect sushi into the trays and drag them back onto the conveyor belt. Throw anything that's not sushi away, you don't want that getting out to the customers!

I thought the difficulty curve was pretty steep. I think I would have really enjoyed a shallower curve with the game being a bit harder at the beginning. Great visual style! =)

I loved this game, the parody of lootcrates and EA alone was priceless. Amazing job!

Very amused by the loot crates! It actually kept me coming back to replay it when I was originally planning on closing the tab, so I guess that works exactly as they're supposed to, huh?

Your game made me giggle~ I only managed to get one loot crate though... guess I have to do more grinding...
Needs more MTX to compete with games nowadays though.

I agree with the rest of the comments. I loved it, but the learning curve was pretty... explosive... (see what I did there?). Definitely one of my favourites so far!

Getting common sushi on a lootbox? Where's my pride and accomplishment?!

Now, really. This game was extremely deceptive. You deserve a round of applause. Let me go a bit more in depth about how I feel about it.

The game is very straightforward. You pack up the sushi and deliver it, hoping none goes to waste. The physics were functional, and it was overall very intuitive.

Then the game took a turn for the macabre. I'm not gonna spoil it, but, oh gawd. I laughed and spazzed the moment I found out what the heck was going on.

Great work, and congratulations on making a game with the "you have to play it to believe it" feeling to it. In behalf of our team, I hope that your game gave you a higher feeling of pride and accomplishment than any lootbox can provide. :whale:

Oh man, that took quite a turn! The parody was great, the base game was great. My only unmet wish is that I could've had longer to play it before the shift!

Yeah balancing was definitely the hardest part, I wanted the AE reveal to happen soon enough so that everyone would see it :D

I liked the blend of sushi and games industry controversy. It got quite hectic in there and the bin got full quickly.

I thought it was just a simple and relaxing game, but AE shows up and i got berserk.

Good job, you made a very funny entry ^^

The game is super fun, specially when the alarm was risen and everything went crazy. Perfect emotional trigger! Love the low-poly style, the color tuning and the scene set, which makes the game tasty without overwhelmed.

And the 'AE' crates. Niiiiiiiiiiice!

Hilarious and fun twist in the game, and a well deserved stab at the controversy.

Maybe add an element where it's obvious that I can pick up the item (like a glow on the outside) as I had trouble clicking on the hitbox of some of the items in the game.

Cheers anyway had alot of fun in game, and my sides were splitting at the secret :yum:

The 3d assets are great! The 2d UI doesn't feel up to the same standard though. It might have been interesting to build the "happiness" bar as some kind of 3d asset instead. The text window also closed before I had a chance to read it most of the time, as I was busy being a good sushi boxer.

The "snapping" and mouse move was fairly intuitive for the most part, however one of the pieces of trash got "stuck" on my cursor and the game ended shortly after. I suspect part of this is due to using the web version, and the way mouse events work when the mouse cursor exits the window (In short: dang fangled internet machine!!!). Not sure there's a good fix for that honestly, beyond some code that tries to detect and handle missed mouse events. (Code that will inevitably be surrounded by comments containing expletives.)

Overall good work! The crates were a nice touch for something in a LD time scale.

The AE appearance was hilarious! Loved that you put the tiny cutscene in there to introduce the "secret". The difficulty definitely ramps up too quickly though. Also there were moments where the physics was causing me to drop sushi trays off the conveyor belt, and breaking the conveyor flaps, although those moments did add to the humor.

@Fireslash thanks for the long review! Yeah the UI art was very much a rushed thing, I will have to look into this bug you found, it was very much a "let's hope it all works on WebGL" kind of thing :)

@cosmic-adventure-squad Thank you! Getting the balancing right was quite hard, as me and RainbowJam got very used to playing the game so we had no idea if it was too hard or too easy, but we did want it to be an 'unwinnable' game.

I wonder if this happens a lot at Yo Sushi. I played a few times to see what would happen. One time the sushi machine just caught fire, but the appearance of the "surprise" was definitely unexpected and hilarious.

Graphic is great! I also like all the actions just need to grabbing items. :D Quick panicking at the end! Sometimes, I can't pick sushi up, is it just me? Enjoy your game <3

Great game and love the graphics! However, there are times where I couldn't pick up the sushi pieces or had a hard time picking them up when the machine was pumping them out at a faster rate and I was trying to quickly move them to the tray.
This was fun and entertaining, I've played a few other games that were similar to this and so far this one has been the best one I've played :)
