Life's Choices by Tyhan1
This game was created for Ludum Dare 44. The theme was "Your Life is Currency".
In this game you are created with a finite amount of "life" or "time" that your character has available to them. You can spend it on things that we choose to spend our own lives on. Education, persistence, love, etc... We spend our lives on these things for the pursuit of something, something we can accomplish or achieve.
This game is intended to make you think about what things you commit yourself to in your life and how they sometimes can help, sometimes can be mistakes, and how sometimes we never reach the end. Whatever the end really is.
Art was concepted to evoke 60's political posters to reinforce the nature of being critical of decisions as well as being organic, rough, and hand-drawn to bring in an organic human feel. Rough, low-frame-rate 2d animation helped to these goals as well. The mix of flat(unlit) 3d, hand drawn typography, and sketchy character came together to create a unique art style that really fits the themes.
