Good take on the snake genre! Maybe not generous enough on the lengh we can get.

good use of a snake/topdown 'platformer'/puzzle mix.

This has been so far the most professional looking game with a great idea and execution. This is something that could be completed. I have had the most fun with this and the sprite graphics look great and have lots of variation.

Great job - really polished game! Not much to fault really - would have like to have had bigger levels and make a longer snake however.

@conorod - Thanks for the kind words! I really wanted to do more with the level design but that ended up being the biggest time sink, I may end up releasing a post-ld version with more levels :)

I finally beat it! It only took me like 30 minutes... This was a great game, not only did it fit the theme well, the difficulty level was hard yet rewarding. It had solid construction and hit boxes. This honestly felt like a legit game and I would be very interested to see more levels and mechanics introduced. Nice job!

I liked your game for the level design and snake gameplay. The sound was also fitting. One little thing:
Sometimes I got stuck, when I wanted to enter small passages, but this is not too bad. Good Job on your game!

Great job! I'd love to see this fleshed out into a full title!

Really enjoyed the different take on snake, was nice being able to let the snake sit in one spot, but at the same time made timing difficult.

The only thing was I wish I didn't have a life limit, since starting over each time was a bit aggravating (mostly because I was not very good at the game).

I think the use of lives in a puzzle game is too mean

@batmanasb Haha you're probably right, I implemented lives before I designed the levels. It wasn't originally intended to be as hard as it was, but what're you gonna do :) Thanks for playing it!

Cool mashup between a snake game and top-down action game. Would have liked more lives at the start or a way to earn more of them, didn't finish the game because I kept dying too much and restarting from the beginning. Like the art, sounds were alright. Solid little game idea here, execution could be a bit better but good job overall!

Funny game! Good movements and level design. I also liked the mechanics of the space bar, because sometimes it can be good and sometimes it can make you fail for want to hurry up :P Nice art and sounds, gg!

Wow, that was tough, I didn't make it past level 3.

The graphics are sweet and adequate for that type of game. The music also fits but is a bit repetitive.

I think I would have preferred if the game didn't have lives and you would immediately spawn back once you died.

Not sure whether this was by design, but I was not able to collect some of the blobs. I was able to finish the level without them though.

Very nice! From the music to the graphics to the difficulty ramp to the instructions, everything just fits so well together. With each new level I felt compelled to get to the next one to see what comes next. I do think I ran into a bug though. At the least, there was a green blob that I couldn't pick up (the one that is right next to where you spawn to start the level). Thankfully, I was able to complete the level without needing it. Great job!

Really good game, feels very good to play, looks good. I think it would be a little better without having lifes. I just don't like replaying the early levels when i struggle in a specific section. Good job!

Really well put together. Nice level of challenge, and good level design.

I don't feel that the lives system is appropriate to this type of game, but it does add to that classic feel you're going for.

I also experienced the bug where a green blob leaves a ghost.

It might be interesting to explore the mechanics where your tail doesn't retract.

oh congratulation! Nice art! Can I follow it also on indiexpo? Do you have also a page there? This looks great! I looked for the games that used the #LDJAM but I don't find yours. So good luck!! I will hope to make a video about it!

controls feel really good, looks good, respawning bugged me a bit for being a bit slow

i second that lives system is a bit annoying, maybe an hp system would work better

nice one overall
