X-tremtrashball 2000

You're a robot, who was born with a big f*ing magnet (BFM) in his back. You will try to escape a rolling ball of metallic trash who whant to crush you.

Every metallic object will stick to you, except the gas tank, which explode and destroy some of others objects attached to you... Choose the right way !

You're a sort of Wall-e-ndiana Jones...

Nice! Very cool and clever interpretation of the theme! The game has a straightforward goal. I like that because you want to beat your own score!

A fun premise and a cool game. Had a couple of times where items spawned blocking the entire width of the track so I couldn't dodge them, but apart from that it played well. The 3D work is great for something on this time scale too.

Interesting concept. The background sound wasnt really great because it didnt loop smoothly. Next time just watch a video on how to loop sound with audacity. Its really easy and can add a lot to the atmosphere and final rating. In the end I still had fun while it lasted and the whole thing was just hilarious. Heads up and looking forward to your improvements for the next Ludum Dare :)

Game freezes a little bit from time to time (i think this happens when new stuff gets generated), but everything else works pretty fine. Good idea for the game fitting the theme of the jam nicely. And i feel really sorry for this poor robot :slight_frown:

Too hard to avoid things, and the titlescreen is quite weird, that is complicated to click on those buttons. Otherwise I found the concept interesting and you should probably continue developping it, it could became a really interesting game.

Keep coding !

Really brilliant idea! And using shadow to indicate the big ball and press the player is a genius idea. To make your game a great game, you should work more on the camera to make a sense of sped and hurry. Study the games like temple run. And the camera perspective of the cover art of the game is perfect. Another hint for more gamers is try of compress your textures and reduce the build size.

Very good idea and really good graphics! I enjoyed playing this.

Some things I thought of in case you continue:

* The menu should respond to interactions like clicking the buttons. Kind of felt like the game had frozen.
* The menu should allow for controller interaction.
* The camera ends up inside the ball when the ball gets too close, which kind of ruins the feeling of trying to escape it and also makes it unclear how close it is. I would suggest forcing the camera into looking back on ball-mode when the ball is too close.
* One play-through was really hard, it felt like there was no explosion-help anywhere and no way to avoiding getting all cluttered down with objects. Maybe make it a bit less random.
* Some of the smaller obstacles where a bit hard to see.
* Maybe both you and ball should accumulate speed over time so game becomes faster and faster to give a progression to the challenge that way.
* If the helpful exploding thing had a different color to its pickup radius marker it would be nice.
* It would be good with online highscores...

Great entry though. Very good LD-game.
