Looks like fun. Web build or Mac build sometime?

I was a fun game when I embraced the full speed design. I also loved the little balls that coat your car at the end XD. I needed a back-up functionality for when I got stuck on fences.

Enjoyed this product, it's an overall little good jam game :)

Maybe with polish and some more level design, it can be a good android game to release in play store!

Thanks for your work, dude :>

Desperately needs a reverse and less harsh/bouncy wall collisions but it was a lot of fun

Soo fun. More levels plz? I was actually playing the game without using the break button.
You have a good scope with this game for multiplayer - both local and online. It looks like a great game to play with friends. Is that something that you're thinking about?

Fun concept, well done. Would be cool if there'd be some collision effect when you hit the wall.

@MZA Intially the plan was to have 2 player co-op, but out of scope for Ludum Dare.

Very fast paced, I like it. (bonus level is bugged for me btw, I glitch in the ground on some of the blocks)

Nicely done. Still would benefit from reverse and overall better controls. I also like the way you put assets from different sources altogether to create such a vivid picture

@pandademic42 I added Mac and Linux builds, but they are untested. Please let me know if it works.

I am still trying to get a WebGL build, but keep getting errors. Someone said it doesn't work with particle effects, which I used at the finish line. Sadly I don't know if I'll be able to get a Web Version.

@AzimuthGames and others I hear you about the reverse. Sadly that feature along with many others had to be cut for scope, but I agree there are sections where I wish I could just back up instead of having to slowly turn around to get in position.

Thanks for playing and giving the feedback.

Very solid game. Temple Run + Racing is cool. There are few ideas to consider:

1. Change a camera to a higher angle because now it's quite easy to miss the jump.
2. The control can be improved.

This was fun! It was satisfying to grab all those coins, and the physics let me jump and do rail grinds on the fences! I even enjoyed trying to get lots of speed and clear big gaps with a well timed jump! Obviously the game could use a little polish, but the only other thing that bugged me was that you couldn't back up! Great job!

Enjoying the sonic atmosphere here haha, and fusion and platforming is definitely a fresh idea. Only If i could have handled my car better to make proper turns It would have made all things more easier haha. Good job!

The SPEED! All my car-as-fast-as-a-jet dreams have come true! Love the music and the whole atmosphere the game gives off.
PS: Works flawlessly on Linux, as far as I can tell.

Nice game.
I really like graphic and and music.
The biggest flaw is clunky control, and instant break after hitting obstacles. I think that maybe bouncing from them, in cartoons manner would be funny.

Generally fun idea, only neutered by lack of time. With polish, including the option to go in reverse, this game could potentially shine on mobile platform.

Kind of buggy, but that was part of the charm! Really enjoyed the simple mechanics and RAW acceleration. Was happy to find that the mouse button could control acceleration. Wish there had been a reverse, kind of concerned about the lack of brake lights and license plate, but I guess we really weren't around other drivers and/or on the road. Like the graphics and the checker-board ground, would have liked if the trees were billboarded, and the grass was backwards occasionally. All-in-all, pretty kick ass entry.

I kept getting stuck in the seams between level geometry, or if I was going fast the level geometry would throw me into the air and I'd lose control. For any kind of 3D unity game, Probuilder is a must IMO.

Wow great game and feeling of speed. Maybe you should include a level timer so people really need to race fast to reach the finish before the time runs out. That would make it more intense. I also got stuck at some objects so a way to go back would be great.

@CG-Fred Thanks for playing. Each level does have a timer. I am wondering if it didn't show up properly for you.

Do you mind taking a screenshot so I can debug. Focus on the upper left of the screen.

Thank you.

Ahh sorry you are correct there is one. It was pretty small though so I missed it. You should probably be less generous with the time though so people really need to floor it :D

I liked the mood of the game, the music and the game play worked really well.

Biggest rooms for improvement would be to smooth out the collisions, my car would bump around at weird spots. Push back the camera to be able to see more the map, and add the ability to reverse.

Thanks for creating this game, see you in the next jam!

Nice idea - needs a bit of work to make the game play smoother. Better collisions, fine tune jumping mchanics etc.

Very interesting idea! I found the controls to be a bit frustrating though! I think the movement was way too fast compared to the turning speed and I think it was frustrating that you could only break and couldn't reverse. Dying is a bit jarring due to the way the camera flies back as well. The concept was really interesting though and my girlfriend and I both had a hilarious time playing it!

Heyo. Played this during the stream. I thought the concept was interesting, but given the fast-paced nature of the game, the controls felt woefully loose. For example, the handling (turning) is too slow to deal with the 90-degree turns. Similarly, due to presumably some bumps in the road, my car would hop uncontrollably. I would have appreciated tighter controls to make the integration of racing with platforming (the latter which requires tight controls form the first place) more pleasant.

The driving controls were better than a few racing games I've played during LD, though still made steering a bit challenging - I felt I had to stop to turn any decent corner! the speed of the car also meant steering wasn't really a priority. However- that became part of the game, it was more about trying to handle the fast pace of the car whilst still managing typical platformer elements! Had a bit of fun, the visuals were all consistent and quite pleasing, music fitted with the vibe you were going for too! Cheers!

I missed the game on the TVGS stream last night, but I am glad I was able to play it today. The driving was a bit quick and imo worked better in the later levels when it seemed like the levels were built with the speed and jumping in mind. Sometimes then it felt like I was speed running something. The game had simple but clean presentation. Nice job. Cheers!

Cool and funny game! Very nice graphics and music! I think that the car acceleration is a bit too elevate, and the collisions with the sides is not very precise in some moments, however very good game, nice work!

This is a really fun Sonic inspired game. Some of the physics and controls are a bit wonky. I would probably add a reverse button. Also sometimes the track was bumpy so I would pop off the ground before I could press jump and it would kill me. Some of the re-spawns put me in weird spots like inside an island and in the bonus level I kept getting stuck and drive wasn't working. I love the tropical mood you made and I love the confetti at the end. When I wasn't struggling with the controls, the levels were fun and well designed. If you expand upon the game I would love to see multiplayer and maybe an endless mode. Good job.

This is fun and it really reminded me of Sonic. The controls need some work, turning felt awkward, and backing up would really help. Timing jumps was also difficult. The graphics were great and I like the idea a lot.

I'm not a 'Sonic kid', but I had fun regardless, especially in level 8. The assets were curated and utilised really well - the visuals nicely pop a and the main track goes with it really well.
I'm not sure what part of it is 'Press your luck' exactly.

Suggestions/nitpicks:
* as others have mentioned, reverse would have been nice
* sometimes the car 'jumped'/got ejected on block 'seams' (at least it looked like it was related to collision issues)
* I got stuck in something and had to accelerate to jerkily move for a while to continue (happened to me in the bonus level)
* a less harsh damping/stopping on crashing into something could be cool
