The lack of time didn't allow me to animate the Boo player, so we did it with code and that makes it floaty. We did actually have a boss yet to be implemented.

Also the revolver felt a lot better than the shotgun to use which was sad because all i could find were shotguns ha!
Nice game man - love the visuals and vibe.
@kyperbelt Oops, it tries to spawn objects in the wall chunk, but there are no empty tiles. Infinite loop! Hopefully few reach that point anyway. :)
What was a little bit annoying is death that you can only hardly escape - once I lost 2 hearths right after spawning and sometimes I felt there were too many thigs coming out of my screen that just killed me (out of nowhere a laser! :D )
And after I have developed some simple strategy (going inside walls, getting a flamethrower and shooting from just narrow path, I felt like I could just sit there forever and get as high score as I would like to - I feel some motivation to move and go somewhere actually would be really great :)
Overall really nice job, I think that with just a few changes it could be really great game with quite a long gameplay :)
I'm impressed that there is already so much content for a Jam - congratulations !
The procedural generation add a lot regarding the replay-ability, and in your case it's really a big plus.
I really hope you will join LD again and I'm looking forward your next submission - keep working !
The changing sides of the gun when you look the other sides makes it uncomfortable to shoot enemies that are above or below. Indeed a top down mouse shooter randomly generated game isn't a new thing or combination of genres but the game itself is fun and super cool.
like Dragojt says really creepy!
keep the good work guys :)
The destructible terrain is cool, although I'd rather see the characters digging thru rather than just shooting through it. (Then again, that could get tedious).
Gripes/suggestions/nitpicks (take this with a grain of salt as the game seems overscoped as is - you've done a lot for just 3 days):
* meatier/bassier sounds (especially gunshots)
* the shotty shoots just 1 pellet? That's not very satisfying
* the green goo-shots should probably dissappear when the player gets hit by them
* where player shoots and the cursor seem to be offset by the gun position (so I'd assume the cursor should be offset by what the gun nozzle is offset from the center of the character)
BTW. What are the mixed/combined genres?
The genres are listed in the description: arcade + procedural generation
Very fun game, I really enjoyed the gameplay and the art is very good!
Congratulations for the game!
