Ludum Dare 41 - Prime Serenity by pRoFiT

[raw]
made by pRoFiT for LD 41 (JAM)

First game jam! this should be fun.

Unity 2018 beta :) risky but why not. Trying out the new probuilder stuff VS2017 Photoshop CS5 AwesomeBump for normal maps. https://beepbox.co for background music.

Looks like 3D top down Maze puzzle Math sci fi mix.

WASD - controls

ESC to exit level

Prime is the key.

okay so i finally started working today on this. i really dont think i will finish in time.

I'm going to call it "Prime Serenity"

Math / puzzle / sci fi possibly. This theme is not a great theme to work with. since almost all genres can work mixed together..

i wanted to do so much with this. but i think in the end it will be super easy to go through. because i wont have time to put in the puzzles i wanted. But there is still a trick to win it.

Okay released build2 a playable version. No indications if you are doing good or bad yet. Need some final touches. Not everything i wanted to add. but enough i guess for a first game jam. :)

Build three has exit button! and ESC to get out of level. so you dont have to hit alt F4 :)

I jumped into the game but wasn't really sure what my goal and controls were. Then, being the dense person I am, realized the goal of the game was to follow the series of doors marked with prime numbers (the game title was a good hint, too). The controls are pretty tight, but the camera-pan action is a bit floaty.

Overall, for a first game jam entry, solid game :)

Hey thanks. yah i wish i had more time to do what i wanted, solve a puzzle get a key to open a door, hope you got the prime door. But Prime numbers are the key. i think i should of randomized the numbers more. it just goes down in order to the next prime for now. So every time the prime sequence is the same. the other numbers are random.

and some tutorial in the begining would have been nice if i had time too.

oh well next jam maybe i will be more prepared. Thanks for playing.

Very neat little submission here. Cool puzzle game, even if the sounds are a bit weird.

Took a while to get what I was supposed to do. The controls work well and it looks good. I beat it by face ramming any odd door, you get lucky sometimes!

@Tatazaki most sounds are my voice with effects. Guess i could of downloaded some free sounds. But i tried to do everything myself. Except the model i used was unitys 3rd person model. So yah the sounds may be wierd :)

Clever little idea! I liked the sound and atmosphere a lot. Some of those doors are tricky!

Not really for me. Enjoyed the camera movement though, might just be a little too early for prime numbers :D Music was great though.

Hi i played in your game.
I would to give you my feedback. It isn't hate or negative critice
I will write what i like and what I less like.
So, i very like graphic an mechanic, especially rotating the board.
Graphic is minimalist but estetic, clear and look nice.
Ofcourse idea was good too. I like mathematic puzzle so much!
But....
Sorry for this, but I don't uderstand your game.
I know what i must to do, but I have no problem with choosing the right door every time. I quickly found a way to win this game without solving the puzzle on each level.
Try to do something that makes playing a little difficult and will not make it so obvious.
Maybe add new maps or something that will bother you.

Your game is cool but it can be even more fun.
Great job! Don't stop developing your passion and skills! :-)

PS: Sorry for my english, i still learn.

I really didn't understand what you had to do. Had to go read the comments to figure that out. Sorry.

@CaptainPilot i wanted to do a simple tutorial in the beginning but ran out of time. And some puzzles to get a key to open the door. And then hope you know your prime numbers. Next jam ill prepare more. Thanks for the comment.

Cool game. I wasn't sure what I had to do at the start but I had assumed that by the sound of the doors the lower grunt was bad and the high giggle was and my assumption was correct! It's a simple concept but I think there is a lot of room for expansion for more difficulty and variation

Played on Mac- with Firefox as the Unity player did not respond in Safari. I love the whole thing. The idea of a math game takes me back to Number Munchers- sure you could glitz up the graphics, but the perspective is cool and the animation is super smooth. The sound design is boss. Watch out for those even numbers- ;) Thanks for the game!

Did not expect to do any math today :D Very solid game, controls reminds my of the old school 3D platformers.

Really love the style! "P-R-I-M-E S-E-R-E-N-I-T-Y" in the robotic voice really sets the mood.
