the visual novel tower-dating things can be a real interesting concept if you spend more time on it after jam. Like some anime style art or something.

We have also made a little game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/typer-world-cup
You'll have my eternal gratitude if you'd check it out:-)

The role play was pretty funny XD Though the pink text was hard to read. It was a good solid tower defense game and I liked being able to build lots of walls for making a maze. My game is a plane based one at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/aerowrit-textflight-sim

I laughed a lot during dialogs XD Game needs some improvement - just adding sounds when enemy gets hit etc. (it is very important, ya know!). But you hadn't a lot of time and it was your first game jam, so - it is pretty good for it! :D https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/remember-or-die Here is mine :D

Pretty fun mashup of genres and very cute text. BLAMMO :)
Though I had issues when trying to build things in the TD-mode. It would deduct the cost yet not actually place the tower or wall.

@svdvorak that should only be happening if you try to make it impossible to path between the spawn and goal.

If you make the path impossible it will refund the tower you just placed but minus 10 credits for each time you've tried to block the path (to stop people from abusing it).

So a wall that blocks the path refunds no money, and then the next time you try to block the path you lose 10 credits, so on and so forth.

Thank you so much for rating and reviewing our game though! I'll be sure to do the same for you game when I get home

Really kinda hope this gets polished up some more, would love to see what a fully realized version of this would look like! Well done!

A good start to a game. I'm very intrigued as to where the tower-defense + dating-sim might go -- it could be, for example, the way to level-up towers, or maybe if a tower feels neglected it could choose to stop working. I think that would be pretty funny and certainly very unique.

I did only play the 1.01 version, so maybe I missed a couple of things. But it was fun nonetheless, and with future work could be pretty neat.

The music is really nice to jam to :P

I wish the game was longer and I also wish the game characters had different things to say depending on the towers you used (I never used missle towers for example so it would be fun to see that tower get mad).

Great work, though!

@Langotriel Thank you so much for the kind words!! I'm glad you liked it :)

We had the idea to do things like that but ran short on time to implement such features.

And thank you so much to everyone who rated us and helped get the game above 20 aggregate ratings!!

I miss having some characters to look at given that it has some visual novel elements to it? Although the gameplay was pretty fun!

Loved the music! I like the idea of a tower defense mixed with dating/relationship story. I think back to StarCraft 2 when you are able to customize your units depending on how your progress through the story.

Would really like to see this expanded upon after the jam, great job!

@nilead Thank for the review!!

The Visual Novel portion should have characters though. (They should be pixel art towers with anime blush).

I wanted to try it out, but there doesn't seem to be a Linux build :( Seem like it's Unity from the source code, next time you could also try exporting to WebGL, Linux, etc it's actually pretty easy and increases your audience :)
