Treasury Of The Cannon by Phobos001

As the secretary of the treasury of 'The Cannon', you must protect your economic basis (of tons of stolen gold) from invaders!
Whew! That was a workout! This time I took the compo to learn how to make a full Godot project. There's a lot of carry-over from how I structured projects in Unity, but it worked out really well! Also, forgot to add 'Protect the gold!' at the beginning of the game. Whoops! Might have to update that later.
Hope you all have fun with my game. Have a wonderful day, and I can't wait to see what you all made :)

One suggestion: when the game over screen appears, there should be a short timeout until the fire button is accepted to continue - it was sometimes shown so briefly that I didnt notice the game ended at all.
 Good job, well done!
(Since it is a Godot project: Have you had a look at the "Tween" node? I found this helps a lot with executing tasks that otherwise need to be handled by scripting.)
Solid controls and graphics, the juice is there with the screen-shake and particle explosions.
Some music would have added to the atmosphere, but the sound effects were good.
The background was a bit too static, but wasn't horrible to look at.
There might be a scaling issue, I played at home and work. At work it loads onto my main display which is 1680*1050 and it cut off the bottom to where I couldn't see the shields or gold.
As above, the ending probably needs you to press a different button, or a timer, to actually see when you die.
I think an indicator on how many hits the shields and gold have left would have enhanced the experience (Shields were OK as they diminished, but gold I had no idea).
All in all, a solid entry that requires minimal polish!
