Unpredictable dungeon by Pete

[raw]
made by Pete for LD 44 (JAM)

Unpredictable dungeon is a FPS RogueLike game. You fight your way through a dungeon consisting of several rooms. There are a couple of premade rooms which are randomly connected together to form a random generated level. You enter the next level by standing on a yellow platform. You can use either a laser gun which has a large magazine and high firerate or a sniper which packs a bigger punch and has a longer range. When you begin reloading a weapon you need to finish reloading that weapon before you can change to another one.

The keyboard controls are: * WASD or arrow keys to walk * space to jump * left mouse button to shoot * r to reload * 1 to equip laser gun * 2 to equip sniper * k to decrease aim sensitivity * i to increase aim sensitivity

The melee cube enemies are very fast and incredibly difficult to deal with, and it's hard to tell where the doorways are. The guns feel unwieldy too- the lasergun can burn through its magazine in less than 5 seconds, and a missed shot with the sniper rifle makes it hard to handle the deathcubes attacking your kneecaps.

It's a great concept for a game though. the random floor layouts work well (although sometimes the exit portal is only one room away from the start), and the pillar enemies are very fun to fight. getting to the end of a dungeon floor feels good.

I am not sure how the game is connected to the theme. Nice job, overall. Enemies are distinct, which is nice. However the weapon sometimes jams, so I can't shoot.
