About:

This was more like a 24h jam for me. Because off my two lovely children. And the lovely weather... Therefore i couldn't finish quite a few wanted features (vulcanos as weapons e.g. :( ) but anyway... I hope some off you will enjoy it nevertheless. I'm looking forward to play your games!!

How: - Unity 2019 - Hand drawn sprites via light table and scanner - Sfx via mic & garageband - Ambient Sounds via field recording - Music via Moog Sub37 & garageband

The art is AMAZING on this game, the style is so unique! I did find it a little hard to control the planet, but furtherwise its an amazing game.

Super cute game, I like the art and the sound style. The mechanics are also very interesting, I was a bit confused at first but then I realized I could shake the planet and that added a whole lot of fun.

So relaxing! I really enjoyed shaking those little people off the bottom of the planet - hearing their little screams of anguish was very satisfying. Shaking the clouds and smiting them also felt very good. And the sound design and artstyle only solidified my opinion about this game being a great, if a bit sadistic experience. But it's for the good of the planet, so I'll let it slide.

Superb game idea. The simple hand drawn style is really, really nice to look at. The way the people occupy our planet is wonderful to observe.

Thank your very much for this gem!

Such a wonderful looking game! It actually looks like you're playing the game on a piece of paper. The game play is solid and the audio is excellent. The only fault I can find is that the shaking of the clouds felt a little fiddly to me.

Nice! The paper drawings were so realistic, I thought that your screenshots were you conceptualizing. Also, it's kinda hard to play.

One of the most interesting games of this compo, well done.

Very cute visuals and pleasantly surprised by the actual game, not what I expected. Great use of gravity. Nicely done I think you could make this a bigger game!

I love the hand drawn artstyle, wish I could zoom in the game, everything is a bit small to me. Wasn't sure how to get rid of buildings, lightning didn't seem to work, or maybe I didn't aim it right? Shaking people off is fun :)

Haha, loved shaking the whole planet!

Interesting way of making the graphics and they look really well. I did not notice the bird sounds until after I played the game though. (Could maybe be made a bit louder)

Moving the clouds felt really slow, but we could just shake the whole planet, so I did that most of the time instead. :)

@barrier : Thank you! Lightning should work. Everything nearby the cloud should go down. But you're right with the zoom. It wasn't possible to scale the game without redrawning many assets unfortunately. Playing in fullscreen helps a little bit :)

@jeroenpx : Thx for the kind words! The low volume bugs me the most to be honest. I did everything with headphones and it seemed ok but yeah...bummer :D

This game is really amazing!
The graphics are beautiful and unique, the sounds are so fitting (Great ambient noise), and shaking people off the bottom of the planet is both humorous, and makes fun noises!

Something you might want to consider adding if you keep developing this:
I kept looking at that one meteor just floating around and thinking, "I sure wish I could use that."

Loved the artwork and the SFX (pitched voices made me laugh loud).
Actually the music is quite low in the mix (even with headset and volume 100%) but the moog sound is always a good choice!

Really lovely little game! Art and audio are brilliant and game play is really nice.

Felt the time ticked by quite quickly and things got out of control fast, but think with a bit more time I would get a the hang of it!

Really good game, I love graphics and the audio. I also like the gameplay concept and how it all plays together.

I only found the control to be a little finicky with the mouse shaking. And a little background music would have been nice.

It is hard to understand how to get rid of the colonists without reading the instructions. Some floating text with hint what to do after the first colonists landed on the planet would make the experience better. Once you understand how to shake off these nasty colonists, game becomes much more fun. Especially when they are falling down into outer space with screams ))) Nice effect! And very distinct and pleasant visual style.

The artwork is great, and aside from the actual gameplay the little touches make it so much fun to play. I loved the sound effects... honestly this is the first game I've played from LD44 that really made me laugh (at the sounds of the little humans falling off of the planet). Really slick presentation... loved this.

Oh this was amazing. I always wanted to do something in this kind of graphics style. Remind me of this game called "Hidden Folks". I would love to learn the process of making it, please if you do a post-mortem send me the link or let me know. Also I think this game with this graphics it would be perfect as a Mobile Game where you shake the phone and use your fingers to rotate. I think it has a really good potential. At the beginning I was thinking that everything was too small but I think it is better small! And the audio, it really fits into the game. 24h for this? My God.

I laughed so hard playing this, well done! I liked the cute little sounds everybody makes all the time. I do wish this had a different control scheme though, maybe two keys for rotation or something, but that would also change the difficulty of course...

This game is DIFFERENT! The minimalistic sounds and its art make it stand out! Really good work!

Although I looked it up in the description, I could not find out how to really succeed at this game. Maybe you could have pointed that out in-game.

I think,if you had more time to polish to game, this would have become a real burner -- although it's already exciting!

Solid.
Unusual concept and design, liked shaking colonists off a lot (though felt a bit sorry for them), charging clouds feels good too (is there a way to get new clouds?)

I think, it would make a big difference if you scale everything up to a degree you could see the colonists and their faces

The graphics of this style is certainly charming

Keep it up!

I hoped that someone could make a game about the planet in a not rhetorical way. This game is very funny, mainly because of the cool sounds effects. It was easy to understand and play and I really enjoyed the interaction and animation. The craphics are cute,I would have liked to have a closer look at the planet maybe. Great entry!

Great drawings, though it is hard to see the humans. Maybe you can create more contrast between the planet and the humans, to make it easier to see how many and were they are located on the planet. I also saw that you added the Moon, perhaps the player can slam the Moon into the Earth to get rid of loads of humans at once (while doing damage to the Earth).

Everything feels quite designed for such a short time period, great work on that. The audio adds a really unsettling sort of vibe for me, which is definitely not what I expected going in!

Edit: thinking about it, this game very strongly captures the feeling of when you're a kid and you turn yourself upside and are afraid of falling into the sky. Turns out the planet's been rooting for that to happen.
