Tetriphys: The Thing That Should Not Be by kr4ft3r
This is a mesh between Tetris and physics game, a highly incompatible match. May seem too hard at start but gets easier with each minute. I usually get around 1000-4000 score. Also this is the first time I submit to compo rather than jam, due to idea simplicity.
- HOLD Up arrow key to make shape float. Other directional keys are useful as well.
- Press Space if you want to shake things up a bit (I suggest you rarely use this).
- After the active piece touches floor or other piece you can still control it for about two seconds.
- Press R key at any time to restart game
- Align at least eight blocks horizontally (approximately) to remove them and score points.

@flatgub @theslate Thank you all for giving it a go.
Also there is a curios bug. If you send your newly landed piece flying up into the airall the way to the top, and it hits the next piece as it spawns you might get a gameover notification even though the playfield is half empty.
The music and graphics really are appropriate, but I think that it would be better if the left and right arrow keys applied a force (like the up arrow) instead of torque (spinning the block around)...
I have seen a couple of physics based Tetris clones in the past but never played one myself.
I do not know how I ended up clearing those rows, I could not really identify when a row was considered full by the game. That took the fun out of it for me.
The controls are not clear at first but you can figure them out easily so that is actually a good thing.
The music and sound effects are good.
The graphics are nice, I like the 3D-ish look and the see-through blocks. Also the particles when a row is cleared. The graphics were the best part about this game for me.
Great job, keep up the good work!
Haha nah that's a great game! Clear mechanics, gets hectic and funny quite quickly, and the two genres definitely didn't blend that well - but in a good way! Good job
