I had a lot of fun playing this game! My only complaint would be that there is no animation for a line clear. I know that its not completely necessary, but it would have helped a lot when I was first figuring out how to play.

Thanks! I definitely would have added line clear with a little extra time. Maybe I'll work on it a bit longer post jam to add some of the basics like that.

Bloody hell, this gets hard fast! I can't make it past 18 lines...

I think it could use some juicing up as Untitled Studios mentioned regarding things like animations for a line clear. Very intriguing idea though, I would love to see you work on this post-jam. Good luck!!

This is really cool! I like how nothing is explained and it slowly dawns on you that the tiles get bigger. It adds a nice twist to tetris. Graphics were simple, but worked. Animations for line clears would have helped, but I didn't think that the way it is made it that much harder. Good work :D

17 lines for me. Its hard, but I love those games. Maybe some music or sound effects are missing, but they enoying me in most cases in this kind of games. So I'm fine with that too. Really great job. Will play it again.

Great game, definitely enjoyed it! I don't have much to say since the graphics is simplistic (that doesn't mean it's bad), and i don't know if there's any audio, but i didn't hear any. Good job!

it's quite hard to understand what happens at first
should give better feedback when clearing lines
also, RMB to rotate is REALLY annoying on trackpads, give a keyboard alternative

anyway tetris is always good lol

@frescogusto The keyboard alternative is R. Sorry I never posted that anywhere! I'll add that to the description.

Great entry! This was a surprisingly interesting take on tetris; played it multiple times trying to beat my previous scores. It does feel like the difficulty ramps up a bit too fast (my best was 22 lines). I think the difficulty came mostly the increasingly awkward shapes you have to place; if this part ramped up slower in relation to the size of the board it might be a bit more approchable.

Some audio/visual polish would also go a long way towards improving this, but still a really solid puzzle game as-is!

@sean-s-leblanc Thanks! In the post jam version, I'm actually making it ramp up faster so you can get to the bigger more awkward pieces before running out of space. But in the long run, I think you might be right about getting there more slowly. Some of the solutions to making the game easier require a bit more coding, like making stuff fall when it's no longer connected to the cell that was supporting it.

It's quite challenging, I like the unusual pieces. It would be nice to show the next shapes, that would make the game more interesting. Good job on your entry!

Yay, more Tetris games!

Or sort of---there's enough of a spin on this to make it standalone, save for the basic line-clear rules of Tetris. I think there might be some interesting logic in piece generation to prevent completely unhelpful pieces, especially since you already have custom shapes. Maybe that would make it too easy though, heh.

I don't know how much further you'd want to go with this, but I'd love this on my phone!

Nice twist on Tetris, I like the variation in pieces away from the normal shapes as you go along. Would have liked more polish given the basic mechanic isn't too tricky to implement, but overall a quality entry.

Well this got a lot harder, a lot faster than I thought. Those new blocks killed me, haha! I like the nice and simple design though, so good job!

@jjjjason Thanks! For the piece generation, it's generating every possible piece of that size and getting rid of any duplicates so the game can randomly pick between them with an equal chance for each piece. And occasionally I have it give you a smaller piece to help you fill in a few gaps here and there.

So good! Works really well, and interesting way to take the action element out of the game and still keep it interesting and not too slow or easy. Really enjoyed this one and spent more time with it than i expected to. :)
