I wanted to make a roguelike RPG hack n slash. Whew as always I bite off too much.. anyway, I'm quite happy with it in the end. It's quite a bit of fun and a challange. Hope you enjoy it! Please leave some comments and tell me if there are any crashes and I'll fix them!

I wanted to work on making the levels much more interesting, and have some better progression at lower levels, but I didn't have enough time and focused on getting the rest working well enough.

Mouse - Movement
Q - Melee attack
W - Ranged attack
E - Magic attack
1-2-3 - Level up stats
Tab/I - Inventory

M - Music
F10 - Fullscreen

Nice job recreating the Diablo font! I like being able to move the dead bodies around and make them talk xD

That. Was. Awesome! I haven't felt that Diablo-fun for a long time. As always, mages kick ass of everyone :D
I thought to run through for level 100 but game crashed after going through ladder on level 30.

It's a fun game but I think it's too easy. I want more challange :P

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

I like the gameplay and the aesthetic - really good mood. It could be harder ++

It's definately too simple but it's understandable for compo game. However I'm amazed with amount of assets you've used and inventory system. I was fighting through first ~10 levels but then I rushed toward 30th but there was no boss or anything unexpectful. However I had some fun with this Diablo-like. 2D hack 'n slash would be great since there isn't many of them currently.

I know hack 'n slash is based on isometric 2D but I mean some indie pixel-arted hack 'n slash.

Really captured the essence of action RPGs. The never ending quest of making your numbers bigger through levels and loot, the highs of the loot frenzy, the mayhem and murder, the eventual contemplation of "what am I really doing here?", the realization "I am wasting my life away" followed by "I need to stop" again followed by "BUT I CAN'T" and the eventual realization that all life is just as empty and meaningless. Thanks... I guess?

Thanks for the feedback! @Odefus you really capture the entire genre in probably my best feedback ever! :)

Maybe I'm just not into this kind of game, but combat feels rudimentary, and the AI is just plain better at it. Given how weak healing items are, the best I can seem to hope for is killing a few enemies and grabbing some low-level gear before I run out of health.

@Ryusui. Yeah sadly you need a bit of luck to pickup some kind of weapon before running out of health and mana to have a good chance of survival. Usually this happens, but sometimes it doesn't. Balance is really a lesson for me this LD, which I'm happy for, as I usually make other mistakes and balance is something I'd enjoy working more on and should be sure to give more time for a game like this.

Wow I'm impressed with the amount of work done in compo time =O Very simple, but still very complete game that feels good, though it seemed a bit too easy...? Or maybe I was just lucky with items? xp

Sometimes it was a bit hard to determine if I actually hit the target (once I kept hitting the guy but his life didn't go down, not sure why), and I think the corpses also are hit by projectiles.

Anyway great work!
