Battle through numerous waves of enemies who will try to stop you at all cost! Retry after losing to level Up and become stronger as your stats and abilities level with you. Use your four abilities to stop the enemies in their tracks as you race past them to conquer the dungeon.

CONTROLS:

  • Steering: Left & Right arrow keys - A & D.
  • Acceleration: Up & Down arrow keys - W & D.
  • Abilities: Left Mouse Button, Right Mouse Button, Q and E. (Note: The Q ability of the Archer currently does not work as intented unfortunately)

I always appreciate honest and thorough feedback!

TOOLS:

  • Unity
  • Visual Studio 2017
  • Photoshop
  • Pyxel
  • Guitar Pro 7

CURRENT CONS (Personal Opinion)

I might adress these cons in the coming weeks! - Bad visual feedback, especially regarding the abilities and stats. - Static gameplay. - Difficulty not having as big as an impact as I wouldve hoped. - Warrior class not being finished in time. - Only 5 different but similar enemy types - Imbalanced stats and abilities at later stages of the game. - No sound effects. - No sprite animations. - Really needs a boss fight

CURRENTLY KNOWN BUGS

  • First wave of enemies which shoot blue orbs, can spawn inside of the walls.
  • Quit button not functioning (not taking WEBGL into account).
  • Right Mouse Button, Ring of Arrows not applying Poison Damage over time on Hit.
  • Q, Lighting arrow not being so Lighting-y and not chaining to multiple units.

PLANNED FEATURES:

  • Save/Load
  • Classes to choose from
  • Perk/Talents based on level
  • Item Drops
  • Boss Battles
  • Multiple Stage
  • Short Narrative

Good stuff here man! Wish there was more to play. I love the music!

I really liked the look and feel of this one, only wish that there were some sound effects for shooting and killing enemies!

Finished it. Took me a little bit to figure out you have to outpace the melee enemies. Fairly effect tactic seems to staying at one border and speed up when enemy is spotted. Not sure what the slow special arrow does.

Anyway fun little game with okey graphics. Could use more of that RPG element (leveling up, skill trees, etc.).

The quit button at the end does not work btw.

Haha, well done! I enjoyed playing this a lot, really nice art style, driving mechanics were kinda wonky and took some time to get use to. The combat was fun, the different skills gave it a small element of strategy but also filled the criteria of an RPG. Overall, pretty fun game!

nice idea and fun to play! definitely curious to know how different classes might have played

Well done! It took me a moment to figure out the control, but I picked it up quickly. It'd be neat to see this with the rest of the features you didn't get to. Definitely a good use of the theme. I can only think of King's Knight as an RPG/scrolling shooter mix.

Great game dude! Love the art style and the simple gameplay. I did encounter a bug though, when I replayed the game the first mage wave spawned in the wall (on the left side only), might wanna look into it. It's already fun to play and would love a boss battle with these mechanics (as you've already planned for the future, kek). The cart mechanic is fun though, the steering is exactly right, just the right amount to steer around enemies so really nice job on making the core mechanic fun and challenging!

Overall a really nice game, keep it up!

Wow those are a lot of comments already, did not expect that! Thanks guys

@ghost-in-the-toast Thank you! This really means a lot to me and im glad that you enjoyed it! I wish that I had spent more time on actual content haha

@Sky Thank you! I totally agree with you, unfortunately I ran out of time

@Listonos I appreciate it man! The slow special arrow's behaviour flunked unfortunately, it should've jumped from enemy to enemy. But it died within the last minutes of development haha. Thanks for reporting the bug as well, i'll post a fix for that!

@BlazeXenon Hey thanks a lot! Im glad that you enjoyed the game. I guess because of the wonky controls I did succeed at the Theme's Core Challenge hahaha :D. What felt wonky about the controls? So that I might find a way to finetune it better!

@Joe Garofalo Awesome! Thank you for your comment and playtest! Im glad that you liked it, I wish i could've finished up the warrior class within the time limit. So I guess i'll release a second version ASAP as a secondary download.

@merrak Thanks alot, I'm glad that you enjoyed it! I'll check that game out, im curious now  Would you like the control to be more clear from the get go? (I forgot to post the controls on this page I see)

@DarkAnice Thanks man, I'm glad that you liked it! The first mage wave refers to the wave with the blue orbs I reckon? Thanks for the report I will fix it immediately!

Thanks for the remarks and feedback once again, I'm overwhelmed by the positivity! :v:

@TwinGhosts yes it refers to the wave with blue orbs, I started with easy mode, after I finished it I did the mental mode and then they spawned in the left wall.

@DarkAnice Oh what? That is weird, the difficulty shouldn't affect the spawn positions, I will look into this. Thanks!

Sweet I really enjoyed it! There was some lag between enemies at times, but generally it was very good! Solid 4 stars :)

Nice work man I really enjoyed the pixel aesthetics when I saw your game. This game can really use some super tasty feedback sounds and vfx like you mentioned, also the looks of the tracks are nice and some additional details and possibly different shaped tunneling could be cool too! There'a potential on the core idea here, I would gladly see you continue this with the idea going in dungeon minecarts blasting off enemies with weapons with maybe coop too. Refined and well functioning compliated game for a 48h game I'm impressed, good work!

Cool game. Everything comes together quite well. only complaints is it needed some sound effects for shooting etc. to really round it off. Well done.

Great composition of genres (thought it's racing with shooting  ) and refined core mechanics. Had same problem as @DarkAnice but had a nice time overall!

@Shoj92 Hey thanks for the kind words! Good point, the next patch will fix the long delays between certain waves :)

@T8kk Wow thanks for taking your time for the detailed and thorough review + feedback. I noted all of your feedback and I will certainly get around implementing most of it relatively soon! (Except for COOP but I really dig the idea ). Again thanks and Im glad that you enjoyed playing the game!

@jcwelgemoed Thank you! I can't do anything other than to agree with you on that. It misses some critical and fancy feedback at times. But awesome that you liked it nontheless!

@Cornel Hey man, thank you for the kind words. Sorry for the spawn bug, ill get to it today! But I'm glad to hear that you had a nice time overall

Sometimes it was kinda hard to drive that car, but I like the concept and overall gameplay :D Do not know why you disabled "humor" category, man, you have a man driving cart killing knights! o_O :D As people said above I would also add some sound effects. It is incredible how much they does to game feel! :D Really enjoyed your game, keep it up! :D

This is a really great entry - the graphics stand out to me as particularly well done. It was also very obvious what I should be doing so I could get straight into playing - and the game worked out fine :-)

@GameDevMumin Haha I know what you mean, that was kinda the idea behind the combination of the genres (sort of racing/endless running feeling) while needing precise movements for the bullet dodging! Would you like to see anything changed and how, regarding the movement? Haha maybe I should activate it again :) Thanks for the kind words man!

@jf1989 Thank you so much for the lovely words. I loved drawing the graphics for this game :) and I'm glad that you liked them and the game ofcourse haha!

This was pretty fun once I figured it out. For some reason it took me several plays to figure out I could speed up by pushing W. Probably because I first tried to slow down with S and it didn't do anything so I figured it was just steering, and I couldn't figure out how I was supposed to get anywhere when I was immediately mobbed by two guys and I couldn't kill them fast enough to not lose most of my health.

Once I did figure it out though it wen't better and became pretty fun.

I did have an issue a couple times where my cart got stuck in a right turn, crashed into the wall and I couldn't move away.

good fun! took some getting used to with the arrow drift etc but when i got the skill aiming down it was actually quite satisfying :)

Didn't expect to be in a mine cart!! but once I got used to that idea, it became a fast paced dodging and shooting game, with element of levelling up. A nice idea to keep levels between attempts, in line with the RPG theme but moreso it allows players to get further each time and want to keep playing. had a good vibe to it thanks to the music :)

Once I got a hang of it the game was pretty fun. Would love to see what this game could become. Interesting and unique mechanics and game play. Good job on this game. One thing I would note is that the easy difficulty button is hard to click on unlike the other two difficulty buttons.

That was pretty fun. Good music and art styles. UI was pretty clean too.

Kept dieing to enemies shooting me off screen, so that was disappointing. Otherwise, it was a pretty enjoyable game. Good job.

Great game, would love to see some more characters, and maybe an upgrades tree or something. The art it nice and the music really gets the mood right. Well done.

Pretty fun game! It is a bit hard to get acustomed to the controls though, as you don't often steer in a shoot 'em up ^^

Overall, it is nice. I think a bit more RPG stuff would have been better though. I like the graphics (simple, but effective) and the audio is fine as well.
So yeah, solid entry, congrats! :)

Great game! Love the artwork, was quite fun to game. Could've used a little bit more visual/audio feedback, but a lot of people said that already.

Also, the trail you leave behind is very satisfying :p

You have something with potential here! It suits the theme very well and was really funny to play, I loved using the skills. It will be amazing to explore the whole dungeon, playing as other classes like magician...

If you want some suggestions, since all the enemies come from the front, you could place the main character a bit closer to the lower border of the screen. Also the moving controls, it was a bit hard for me to move, maybe changing the movement to getting the axis instead of directing and accelerating would work fine (I am not sure if I have explained myself well, anyways, this last one maybe it was just that I am a bit bad at playing it).

It is a pretty solid entry, it's amazing that you could do this for the compo! Well done!

Just finished it, by rushing through the level, without killing ennemies. After a few legit tries that got me dead. :D

Still, nice game, and the music gives it a very genuine retro vibe.

Btw my game still need ratings, feel free to stop by :

Finished the game, not sure if this was intentional or a bug but I seemed to get a huge speed boost after level 2 and that made things significantly easier. I'm actually a big fan of this genre hybrid and can tell you there are very few entries in this (3 good ones that I know of). Check out Valkyrie Sky and Mirror War for some inspo if you keep going with this idea. If so I'll keep an eye out for your followup!

Amazing! I totally loved it. The graphics and mechanics are particularly good. I think you can add more hints to help the player. Like"health generates over time" and "you can outrun your opponents."

One of the best entries I played so far and has the potential to be much more :)

P.S. I followed you. If you decided to make a post-jam version let me know.

@FuriousWitch wow thank you for the kind words, it really means a lot to me that you liked it! I might continue on this project at some later date. Thanks again, youre awesome!

@PeachTreeOath Thanks! Im really glad that you enjoyed it, and youre right it is a bug. I totally forgot about it haha, thanks for pointing it out!

@paulhocker Thanks Paul! I wish I couldve finished the warrior, melee and this genre would be hell itself haha

@AnaGF Hey thanks! Good to hear that you enjoyed it . Yeah Id love to add more classes and maybe some form of talent progression or something. Its definitely on the taskboard for when I continue on this game! Great feedback, I agree completely about the camera position. I wanted to let more enemies come from behind but I guess i totally forgot in the end. Thanks again!

Ah cool combo! The racing felt good - was in control (which is not that easy with racing controls).
Figured out that there was a heal ability (I think?) - which is a great addition.
Would have loved to see a bit further ahead, be a little more zoomed out.

But all in all a nice entry. :)
12. May 2018 · 15:56 UTC
Fun game, cool mechanic, and I loved the music. Since you can only move upwards, I think the camera didn't need to be centered over the hero. Could have had it further back so that you got to see enemies before they were right on top of you
