Ice n Fire by Jiri_One

This game was made for the compo, the goal is to achieve a high score. You will run out of space by shooting, but have an alternative fire for melting the obstacles. The best way to learn it is to play it.
WASD - move
SHIFT - switch weapon
Left mouse button - shoot
The second number at the top of the screen is the angle of the gun (used for debug, and no time to remove).
Feel free to leave any feedback as it would be highly appreciated!

The scenario needs some more context for me to get pumped up about playing it. The interactions with elemental powers are cool, but the rest of the scenario doesn't build on that, so it ends up feeling like most twin-stick games, most of the time.
i like the ice and fire mechanic, especially when the ice sprout ice spike on the ground, but i also under impression that we can burn the mummy, its just weird that we can't, but overall well done !
The dual weapon mechanism is super-cool! Great job!
My movement seemed to freeze every now and then, is that normal?
I found a small exploit, but it still interesting to play  Here is my playtest:

I love to concept that your actions limit your space but at the same time keeps you alive. the rocket gun breaks that by allowing you to remove ice.. It would be better just to let the ice melt in a certain time maybe(?). of course it limits the content but maybe adding some random events or harder enemies (bosses etc.) wouldn't hurt?
overall a solid entry. gotta remember that it's a ludum dare tho ;) good job!
PS How come you have the HMTL5 version of GameMaker Studio 2 im so jealous :rage:
PPS I know it's GameMaker: Studio but still :rage:
But, he glitch @mike-inprinciple mentioned is definitely a thing, got over 10000 score right now, and still going, I'll try to let my computer run this under the night, and see how far I get...
Otherwise, this is a great game, you really have to think where you aim, and make sure that you hit, or you'll have problems later. I would really like walk animations, at least for the player, he slides around a bit too much.
