Strategia Soccer by SraBatata
Our game is a turn-based tactical soccer which the player needs to use strategy to score.
Play with a friend or against yourself!

Rules:
- Initially, there are two players on each team: a striker and a defender.
- Strikers walk shorter but kick longer, while defenders walk longer and kick shorter. Any player can move in 8 directions and can't enter the tiles of the goal.
- To add more players, it is needed to click on the bench of your team. This will give you one more player, but your turn will be over. The maximum number of players is 10.
- When a player possesses the ball, he may kick it or pass it to another player of his team. The pass can be done only diagonally to a player two tiles away.
- Also, it is only possible to keep the ball for 3 turns. In the 4th turn, the player must kick it. The counter will be reset every time the ball is kicked or passed.
- The player scores when the ball reaches the tiles of the goal.
- When a goal is scored, both teams will lose every added player and keep the initials striker and defender.
- To win, the team must score 2 goals.
Hope you guys enjoy it!

update: I scored.
Yeah, we realized that it could be a bit confusing so now we added a 'How to Play' so everyone can learn it.
Thanks for playing it!
@Teapoly
Thanks! Glad you had fun and could beat yourself!
@Jeffrey-Hwang
Thanks for your comment. We'll definately think about implementing different moves :smile:
This is a good game, but it's not very user friendly. It took me a while to figure out how to play it, and even now, I have trouble predicting where the football will land.
The graphics are okay, but nothing special. Same with the music. It's a decent loop, but it's rather short and basic. It fits the game just fine.
Overall, I like this game, but it could definitely be improved a lot.
@matsoj15 Thanks! Glad you had fun! :smiley:
@MugenMagnus We decided to make a little surprise about where the ball will land. Thank you for your feedback :slight_smile:
@fazz I looked up about Subbuteo and it seems fun! Thanks, we appreciate your feedback! We'll think about it when improving the game :slight_smile:
@gil4 We also wanted to do an AI but the time was too short. That's another reason why we decided to make it multiplayer. But it is something we want to implement in the future. Thank you so much for your feedback! :smile:
If you keep working on it, an AI (even if just a very simple one) would be great. :)
I liked that bother players had to make their moves and only then the situation would be resolved. However, I think it might have been even more interesting if the other player's moves wouldn't be displayed so that both players could attempt the same moves and there would be some sort of random resolution maybe.
This would probably prove difficult though in local multiplayer, given that the other player would have to turn around anytime you make a move.
One piece of advice from me would be to make a splash screen explaining the controls if they aren't intuitive enough or to highlight the usable game elements (as you did when a player was selected with the floor tiles he could go on).
I think if this would have been simply expanded to a pulsating circle or square around selectable players, it would have mitigated a lot of the confusion I had since it took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to control the game.
All in all, interesting and thought inspiring entry. Keep it up!
The game was not very intuitive to play. I wasn't sure how to shoot the ball and even when I had control of the ball I wanted to move, but instead it kicked past where I expected. I really disliked taking two turns back-to-back even though you were trying to give advantage to respond to your opponent, it rarely worked out. How the players moved still does not completely make sense. I tried to move a player to receive the ball, but the ball flew past them in one spot and passed to a player on the opposite team on another occasion. Making it turn-based broke the flow of the game. I wish that I had more players on the board to begin with or could only move 1 player at a time. I think it would have worked better if it was player 1, then player 2, then player 1 again. The delay in the action taking place was not necessary because the person moving second did not have time to react or put themselves in the place where they want to be, so often moving second in a turn just made you feel frustrated.
I want to thank you for making a local multiplayer game. I hope that you continue to balance it in your post-jam version.
@lexi Thank you for playing our game. We appreciate your suggestions about the game feedbacks and the other tips. It will really help us in the future.
@mic-matrix91 Thank you!

@saoi-games We need more local multiplayer games, in my opinion, I'm glad you think the same. Thank you for playing our game at your stream, I watched it before responding you. We really appreciate your feedback and will think about it when improving the game.
