About

  • Engine: Godot
  • Art: Aseprite
  • Sound: Audacity, BFXR
  • Music: Bosca Ceoil (first time using this, so music might not be great)

Had a hard time with this theme initially, but i kept moving on and came up with this game.

The theme fits in with the storage mechanic of the game.

You have to keep deliverying packages or else new deliverys will overflow your storage and you will get fired.

The best browser to work with the game in my experience is FireFox

How To Play

  • WASD or ARROR KEYS to move character
  • SPACE to pick up package at pick up
  • SPACE to then drop package

  • Avoid cars and other things, you only get 3 lives

  • when you get a package drop it off at the target bay to get a score

  • if you drop it on the ground, or not on the target bay you get a failed score

  • deliverys come every 45 seconds to drop off a random amount of packages

HUD components

  • when you pick up a package, you will see the target bay show in the upper left area
  • success - number of successfull deliverys
  • failed - number of failed deliverys
  • Tracker900 - shows incoming deliverys and how many packages it will be
  • storage - try to keep this below 30

win condition:

  • deliver as many packages as you can

lose conditions:

  • you lose 3 lives
  • you fail 20 times
  • you run out of space in your storage, which is more then 30

Might be a bug on the HTML5 version. When I try to play the game constantly blinks after i press 'next' . Got it working on the windows version! Pretty fun and love the graphics!

"Might be a bug on the HTML5 version. When I try to play the game constantly blinks after i press ‘next’"

I also have this issue with Chrome, and don't have FF installed right now.

@rangrave yeah it wont run in chrome at all, firefox is a must for the webgl, otherwise you can download one of the others that work

voice acting was fun as others have commented
art style is nice - digging the white outlines on characters
I wanted some expansion on the main mechanic - I think it would have been more succesful if the focus was on the content of the game and not drawing the environment which you have clearly put a lot of effort into - maybe in the future start by greyboxing until you have a solid set of mechanics and then skin everything after

@jonahsenzel yeah i did all the gameplay friday, then saturday was all the art and sound, and sunday was bug fixes and getting things polished. i chose to keep that one mechanic and roll with it. maybe in a future ludum dare ill challenge myself to put more juice into the mechanics. thanks for advice

@jcmonkey the samples at http://webglsamples.org work fine, so I have no idea what the problem is, sorry.

the voice acting (like everyone is pointing out) is a nice addition, it gets you right into the mood of the game. I can see you tried your best at almost every aspect of a game development and it shows !

Good touch on the art, the voice acting was a very cool idea. The game idea is simple, but what surrounds it made it an awesome entry for the compo!

I love the voice acting. Really made the game funny. Good art too. I think it might be a little more fun if the guy could walk a little faster? Great job!

I couldnt get the game to work. It gave a screen with flickering, where it switched between two separate screens and you couldn't do anything with the cursor keys or space. So something is wrong with the engine or the game. (the intro screen worked fine)

Tried playing in different browsers but all I got was strobe lights. I liked the idea though, hope I get to play it!

@tero-pulkkinen the webgl versions need firefox, for some reason godot web export doesnt run on chrome, the download versions work if you want to try that.

@4thwallstudios the game should work in firefox, try disabling hardware acceleration

"Get off the road you animal" That was so unexpected that I actually snorted. Are the people walking on the street just mugging me if I walk into them? Why are the packages being dropped off across the street seems inefficient lol. I really like the sound design of the game and the interactions it adds between the player and the environment. I do wish it was a bit faster paced. I also like the art style you went for! I'm not sure if the white outlines were intentional but I think they add a bit of flavor and make it feel like the world is made of paper.

Dude, this is great! There are enough things going on to make this pretty challenging but still simple enough to be a lot of fun. The audio is fantastic, so so good. Love the art too, great job!

Worked in FF for me after flailing in Chrome, guess I learned something about Godot's WebGL implementation this jam :P

I think if I'd change anything, I might make the gap between the pickup and drop points a little smaller, but that's more about my preference for frantic stuff.

This is a pretty cool game overall, though! Awesome work.

Cute sprites, one thing that bothered me was not being able to tell where the invisible walls at the left and right ends of the highway

Had fun with this one and loved seeing it progress from the initial design to the final when you were coming into the stream. End result polish was is nice, and the addition of the Tracker9000 fits well. Love the cars yelling at me and the initial voice at the beginning.

Excellent game! Graphics are fun, sound effects are awesome. I thought I was doing ok, but then I ran out of space, so maybe you could make it more obvious that space is about to run out by flashing/enlarging the capacity meter or something - to give the player a sense of urgency. But that's just polish. Loved it

Really great game! I thought the music was a bit weird but the voice acting was wonderful! The graphics are well done and it felt great to play. I didn't find myself running out of space though as I would always get hit my 3rd time while the number was in the 20's

Pretty fun! I feel like the game is a bit too slow paced though, one game can really drag out for a long time. Also, dropping packages on the floor as little to no penalty, so you can continue the game indefinitively.
