Wow, how has this not gotten any ratings or comments? It's great! The rules about placing buildings could be a little more clear, but who knew that Pac-Man + Sim City could make such a match... and fodder for such a great song!

The controls are a bit to precise for me and I spent a more time that I intended stuck on the first screen, but other than that, super impressed:
- Really fun
- HaxeFlixel doing awesome 3D <3
- Fricking catchy theme song

For me I can't seem to get past the title screen. I hear "Outlaw Mayor" then I'm just stuck with the looping animation on the title.

You know how to engage me to play your game by artwork! :D After playing a while my eyes were destroyed XD Is the music yours? If yes - I am impressed ! :D Nice feeling, when I realized after four deaths that there is minimap it got a lot easier :D

Dude, the 3d effect on this is so cool! I have been wanting to see this done with HaxeFlixel for a long time, and it works *really* well here. Really nice work.

Super solid visuals, at first I didn't even realize this was a Compo entry. WOW!
Just the splash screen alone outclasses many other entries right there. Then the game starts and... well.

Excellent soundtrack, so goofy and rock solid. The gameplay is fast paced and whimsical, and I love the whole scenario of being an outlaw ... and a mayor at the same time. Perfect example of two incompatible genres.

The game loop is quick and snappy and there is a lot of little stuff to discover before those pesky cops blow you up.

Just the gameplay itself is so fresh!

Improvements
----------------
I get stuck a LOT on the edges of the road, both with the keyboard and the controller. Some kind of mild magnetism towards the lateral direction of the road would be a huge improvement in the controls of what otherwise is possibly the best compo entry I have seen to this day.

Compo entries this good should be outlawed!

Very slick presentation! It took me a while to get used to the controls (I felt like I was hanging up on the corners a lot at the start), though.

Also, HaxeFlixel, represent. Old-school Flixel user myself, though never made transition to Haxe. :)

Very pretty, and such fantastic music. Only issue IMO is that the police cars can sometimes be sat next to you on respawning.

Wow thats literally the best entry i ever played in any Ludum Dare. The concept, the art, the 3-2d view - almost perfect.
But Epono is right - i was stuck at the first screen for quite some time... Maybe add a "press x to start" or something similar.

That music is great, loved how the talking played in sync with it. Super cool 2d/3d effect too, I really want to try to make something using this technique now. The camera was a little wonky and didn't feel quite right though. If you get time check out our entry. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mulligun

The music was good; gave me a good chuckle. Graphics were nice, and you did a great job combining the themes together in a fun way. Controlling was a bit tough at first, but it really didn't bother me after a minute or so. I enjoyed being berated with insults when i lost, made me feel alive again. Overall a good amount of fun, 10/10, literally unplayable.

I don't know why I can't download it, Google Chrome says it's dangerous. For what I can see in the images and gifs it's so amazing, An it's in a 2D engine, WOW! Nice work. I'd like to play it, the idea of a building city-racing game is so funny :)

definitely couldn't build the whole city! it was a little difficult to get my fat little car into those narrow little alleys, but maybe a controller would help! great job Will. pixel art always amazing, really enjoyed the chiptunes. keep up the good work.

This game seems really well polished. It's also pretty funny as well. The controls were kind of annoying but it's probably intentional. Overall, good entry.

The combination of of a pacman-y/gta-y carchase and the building part work surprisingly well. The controlls are intuitive, the whole setting is fun and for a compo entry visuals and audio are especially impressive. Still didn't manage to read everything on the gameoverscreen xD

Awesome game dude, the controllers are a bit hard to get used to, and a bit too slippery but i liked it, also, really wish that there was a city building element to the game like, if you place a hospital next to an apartment complex it should grant more points than, say, next to a radio tower, , anyways, nice game, loved it.

This is fantastic. My three-year-old son was watching in rapt attention as I played too.

Super-impressive work for a compo entry. This is crazy work in sound, music, visuals and gameplay.

I get a bit dizzy with the world-spinning, maybe there's a way to make it a bit more palatable for folks like me (like easing into it or something).

What a fantastic entry! The attention to detail and cohesiveness of the game are impressive. Loved the color choices, art style, and audio. Great genre picks to mashup. Controller sensitivity and camera zoom level options would be great additions. The game over screen cracked me up. Very nice work!

Nice trick with the sprites! And the music/audio is super good. I like the building/pacmanesque avoidance aspect, however, after ~30 seconds of playing the game hangs and screen turns black, so I couldn't appreciate all of its goodness =(

dat melody kept me playing for way too long

3D style is used really well by the constant 90 degree turning, but it is also disorienting (which would be a good thing if the game wasn't so hard already)

very cool 3d effect. I would usually get stuck on edges when turning and sometimes the cops would spawn kill me, but it's a nice package with city buildings and polish. The music is really funny too :). My high score was 600.

This is really impressive! I had no idea you could achieve 3D graphics within HaxeFlixel. The music is also really nice and the game has a bouncy and smooth feel to it. The only gripe I have is that there is very little room to avoid the cop cars. Since I was focused on the arrows, the road, and the rotating overworld, I couldn't look at the mini-map to see what direction each were going in.

Loved the graphics music and polish per usual. But it sort of felt like compared to a Sim City type game it was less about building and more about fetch quests. There's a beautiful concept inside here, though.

Wow such a great game. Music, Sound, Graphics, Gameplay and the minimap everything is great. I have to check the source to see how you managed to make this beautiful 3D effect with haxeflixel. One of the best game for me by now! :)

Best game I have ever played this Ludum Dare. Period.

I wish I can be this good at gamedev. You're incredible.

Perfect 5/5 from me in everything.

If this is in the Play Store, I'll get it and play it on my phone.

Wow, this was great. Really loved it! My only feedback was that the controls were a bit hard when it came to driving around corners. I sort of got a pac man vibe from it. I think if you are going to auto drive, it should be more on rails so you can just focus on turning at the right time. I hope you make this into a full game, it would be great on mobile!

Wow this is awesome! Great graphics & music (love the vocals) and the gameplay is super fun. The basic gameplay is satisfying although bonking into the sides of the road was a little annoying, and it was a bit hard to orient myself relative to the minimap given the moving camera. Sometimes when spawning the cops would be right next to me, boxing me in and making it impossible to get away, which was frustrating too. The indicators at the bottom (where it was good to place buildings?) were pretty hard to parse at first, I didn't even notice it until my 5th attempt or so. Despite any issues it was still super fun, my best score was 900. Awesome work! :D

What fantastic art! Very funny, it reminded me a lot pac man.

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.
