Play cards and care for Marcie!

Click on cards to play them. If you can't/don't want to play a card, hit pass above the deck on the right. The game will end when either the dog dies, of either age (15 years), hunger (food goes below zero), or health (health goes below 0).

If you get puppies, drag them to the right to sell, but Marcie won't like it!

In the top left Marcie's stats are shown. FDSP is food speed, how much food is consumed after a 3 turn period.

Every 3 turns, you draw a card.

Ha-ha I loved it! Bark sounds are on point and fetch actually fetches you cards! I have seen you posts during weekend and you graphics evolved from shherical beast to this beautiful good boy pretty nicely! Good game!

The most wholesome game I'll see all Ludum Dare. The yips and barks are adorable. 10/10 would pet doggo again

If there was an “adorable” category, you would win it :)

Cool idea that fits the theme perfectly and is for sure an unusual mix. I love animals but suffer from sever allergies, so I appriciated this extra much! If built upon further I could see this becomming a great game for mobiles.

Super great game! Cute, fun, and lighthearted. Beat it with full happiness and trust, nearly full health and about half food. Nice work!

I really enjoyed it! Great use of the theme. Having to strategize which cards to play to best take care of the dog is a cool idea. I was always low on food and got stuck with a ton of bad cards at the end but managed to finish. Makes me miss my doggo! Great submission!

Your game i'ts actually pretty enjoyable! I wouldgladly play a bigger version of this!

Maybe its a silly thing to say, but i loved the bark sounds!

As for things i would change:
The frame and resollution are too small, it makes difficult to read properlly the cards, other than that... maybe more cards and events!

For your suggestions, I definitely agree with the resolution/frame, it is quite small. If I do work on this game post-LD at all, more content + frame size are my two largest concerns.

Very creative and endearing game. The game looks and feels really cool and polished. I am impressed by how much you managed to come up with and how detailed you were regarding all the images on the cards, I espeially like the sprite and sound you made for the dog 😄 I don't know if I just got lucky , but I tried a run by almost randomly selecting cards and got a score of 62 (good, bad ?), so maybe the strategic component could be a little more refined. Other than that, awesome job !

@paulhocker Thanks, was fun to make. The dog sounds came from me sitting in my closet barking to myself and then bit crushing it, I'm very happy how they came out.

I wish there were more cards and events. Why not making events where you could actually play cards for a different outcome? A good game overall, even if it's a bit simplistic.
