Post Mortem:

So last night we finished our entry for the Game Jam! The initial idea was to fully combine a narrative-driven dating simulator and a tower defense game, where each round represented a day, and each day you got to speak to some pretendants. Your performance on this chats would then affect the tower's behaviour (as each tower type is directly related to a pretendant).

The affection level you had with each tower would make them stronger, stop attacking, or even boost the enemies! As you wouldn't be able to remove the towers, you'd need to choose carefully their placement and the "long-term" relationship you'd have with them. Higher affection levels would also unlock higher upgrade levels for each tower, and towers would develop narrative driven relationships and would start to modify each others stats depending on their friendship status.

Pretty obviously, the scope of the project got out of our hands and we were too fool to notice back when deciding the game (I'll blame for this the emotion of the moment...). The result is a tower defense game with no upgrades, some dating interaction, which applies little to no effects to the game.

However we had a really good time making it together and he got to learn a lot about each others programming tips and hopefully we will make a game with a shorter scope next time!

DISCLAIMER: At some point in the game, texts are not even in english , sorry for that!

(If you played the game before, since this post, a balance change has been performed based on feedback. Shold be way more fun now!)

I love tower defense games and always look for these in game jams. You should play and rate other games so that others can see your game and rate it too. Great job in this jam!

As you said that's not finished, but the idea about relation and tower power was really good.
