Wrong Priorities by Bela Bohlender
Now, it is finally finished. After hours of hard work and sleepless nights, the game is completed. It is a horror-plattformer and as a special feature we made it as an awesome VR game. The complete game was developed without an engine and is OpenSource. We would appreciate comments and feedback.
To check out the game see the link in the downloads section below.
IMPORTANT
VR-glasses are necessary to play this game!
(Google Cardboard or another VR-glasses with a button)
We can't provide any real ingame footage because it's VR, but in the following images you see the scene where the game takes place.

Anyways I got to round 4 or 5 before losing in the computer game, and I was too scared to try the game again, haha. The graphics in the runner game are great, good choice having totally different scenery in each stage. And the game itself is fun.
Overall the game has a good concept and executes it pretty well! The game has a nice flow (minus what I said above). The sounds and lighting effects are well-made and well-timed. The monster sound effect when you lose was well made, but personally I think it may scare people way too much - the creepy room sounds, the lighting, the anticipation, and the red eyes already convey the mood enough, imo.
Also, I'm a noob at using my cardboard, but the magnet slider didn't work in-game, I had to reach in with my finger and touch the screen. Also that's impressive you didn't use an engine! You should add a link to the source code. Also, I'm pretty sure there's software you can use to record gameplay footage of your game, haven't used it myself but I've heard about it.
I hope you find my comments helpful. Great job team!
It wasn't as scary as I expected. But really nice concept.
I feel like more instructions should be given and maybe fix the platformer game. The second level is pretty tough to beat even as an easy game.
A pretty well-done game, I'll keep playing it. Nice entry!
As a recommendation, try to rate more games so people can see yours!
Also, there's a little typo in "Have"
It was very spooky indeed, you really nailed it.
The art is simple yet very functional. My only nitpick would be that the ceiling height felt a little bit too low.
Great entry, congratulations!
By the way, here's our entry, if you are interested:

We made an text-based platformer :)
Overall it was not bad, the concept is solid and it would work fine as a full game, maybe with minigames of everyday perks (cooking, cleankng, studying). However, it was a bit hard top understand at first. I also think you should be careful with the scarejumps, they are not bad at all but maybe some feedback before the Monster actually kills you. You could make it scarier experimenting with the atmosphere instead.
Anyways, you did a good work.
It's a little dirty but the plan is to cleanup the code soon :D
A PC version is not planned but if we get more attention we might bringt it to IOs.
Thanks for the review and interest <3
I downloaded the project to my phone and tried to play, but struggled to figure out how to engage with the scene. I could look around the bedroom and when I looked at the NES and tapped on the screen I could hear a sound, but I didn't see a pointer or loading icon that helped me know where exactly my gaze was landing. I see others have mentioned more game play, and I'm sad I wasn't able to experience all of it.
Do you have a hint of what I might need to do to ensure I get to experience all of your game?
Thank you
If you look away from the screen the game will pause, which may be the cause of your struggle.
Also be careful whats happening after you finish a level, there is a monster hiding :)
Hopefully this fixes the problem, if not it's probably a bug and it would be very kind of you to write a little bug report to my email ( bela@signinit.de ).
Thank you for trying our game and rating it and I hope you'll find time to try it again.
