Olympus is Falling by Charging-Llama
Details
Its been awhile since I participated in a Ludum Dare, the last one was LD34! I went solo this route, but went for the Jam to have an extra day. Initially I wanted to go with a Joe vs the Volcano route, but saw quite a few preliminary games going that way so changed it up and went a Greek mythology style. Spent a large portion of this relearning how to UV map a model, unwrap it, and then paint everything using Photoshop. I have some audio recording equipment but I didn't have time to do anything of my own, so the music and sound effects are from a freebie library that I had found, as such I disabled scoring for all audio.
Game Idea
The idea is that Mount Olympus is under siege and that you must sacrifice falling objects from the gods to repower them, if any of the gods fall (altar timer runs out) you lose. I went with a simpler idea this year since its been awhile since I made anything.
How to play
Run around using WASD, Cursors, or Left click with your mouse to move. Pick up items and drop them off at their matching altar.
- Arrows -> Athena
- Lightning Bolts -> Zeus
- Swords -> Ares
- Tridents -> Poseidon
Tools used:
- Unity 2018.18.f1
- Photoshop CS5.1
- Audacity
- Maya 2017

I like the fact that you went in the direction of greek mythology.
But the animations are nice and the itens are really great!
Congratulations and I hope you can participate in the next jam :)
Pros :
- Nice 3D graphics, and general level of polish
- Great controls scheme (not always a given in item collection based games)
- Good balance (I didn't manage to finish in time on my first try, because of a few stupid errors)
Cons :
- Gameplay gets repetitive after a few objects.
All in all, great job !
And it could get harder a bit faster.
Congrats on coming back to LD :)
