Welcome to Mars by small_little_Alduin

made by small_little_Alduin for LD 40 (JAM)

Help Mars with his own population of people! Mars has long envied Earth its population, now Mars has a chance for its own.

MarsSadScreenShot.png

Because being populated is difficult for any planet you are here to help Mars. Because mankind can be troublesome (it can pollute the planet and destroy it) you have to keep it under control.

This time, we decided to make almost everything ourselves, only the font used in game is downloaded.

To make our game we have used Unity3D, Pyxel edit, Gimp, FL studio and Bfxr.

Really great game, fit perfectly the theme.
Too bad that the difficulty is not increasing, you end up with just trying to not kill human instead of fighting to limit the pollution

Damned people, I hope Mars was indeed happy in the end after I did what I did - I eventually killed them all (once there was too many to handle)! The game suits perfectly to the theme!

What I missed was a bit more explanation for Volcano (that it kills everything on whole side of planet). I've used it on first believing it will destroy just factories - and majority of population was gone!

Nice game. I enjoyed it even though it's kind of passive for the player. Also "The more you have the worst it is" is kinda true for the game but in my case it was "The more you have the more you wipe out with tornado" :p
Good job altogether!

I really liked the idea of balancing the population, great take on the theme. The whole concept and mood reminded me of my LD38 entry. Overall, pretty nice game!

One of the games which fits perfectly in the theme. I really loved the humour in the game's introduction, and the cute clouds are gorgeous (which probably led me to overate the graphics...)
The few interractions are fun already. But of course, we would whish for more and deeper interactions.

This is an oddly relaxing game. It was relaxing listening to the music and destroying as many humans as I could to keep Mars happy and alive.

Nice ambiance, nice graphics, nice font! (I was pleased when I have seen that font even during your presentation at MFF site :))

The gameplay is cool, really easy to understand and yet there is a need to keep doing something because it has to be balanced.

Good job ! :)

I really love the theme of the game! One of the best that I've seen! Also I was surprised by how polished the game is. I learned a lot from the game, like the fact that Space Y employees can dodge lighting and that volcanoes are environmentally clean! 5/5 would kill my population again!

so simple and yet so enjoyable, will play this again if I ever feel the need to relax and cause mass destruction. The music is different than what you would expect, but it works so well! Thank you!
