AviaMorph by The Pelranthean

[raw]
made by The Pelranthean for LD35 (COMPO)
You are the birdman AviaMorph!

Your quest? Find the golden berries of destiny.

Before you stretches a bottomless world of island pillars. Find your way between these havens by shapeshifting into your bird form.

But be careful, when in your bird form you use power from the bird berries you find on the islands. If you run out of berries you will fall forever to the bottomless depths.

Notes (added after watching people play this):
* The tutorial forgets to mention that you change direction while flying using the mouse. That's important.

* Also you can use your controller. Left stick moves, right stick looks around, A button transforms, start button restarts the level, and select button exits the game. This was added last minute, so it might not work too well.

* The web version doesn't do too well at resizing or capturing your mouse. I recommend using Firefox and setting the game to full screen.

* Have fun!

The controls are very loose. I wanted to play more of the game, but was overcome with frustration with the controls.

The controls were a little challenging, especially trying to gauge the velocity while flying. I will say however that the swooping and climbing while flying felt REALLY good, it kept me playing through the difficult controls. Nice job overall, I think this could be really cool if you kept working on it!

I'd love for you to check out my game, Tito's Revenge!

controls are definitely challenging. also, in fullscreen mode at least, became impossible to actually turn all the way around.

Hi, nice game ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description

Controls clearly weren't implemented properly. Couldn't turn around...

I want to point out that this took very, very long to load. For game compo's this is not an ideal delivery.

The game looks nice, but the controls are unwieldy. The indicator for when berries are running out is also not very noticeable.
