As the leader of your village, it's your duty to travel the harsh desert and sacrifice cattle to the god of the Fire Mountain to pray for the village's survival. But in this world, cattle is used as currency. You will need to part ways from it in order to progress, haggling with merchants to acquire resources or simply to bribe a lazy woodworker. However, you can also gather treasures (such as fruit or cloth) and trade them back for cattle. And of course, when talking about money you can't forget thieves, who will try to steal your cattle and take it to their hideouts. Defend your herd and kill the bandits, or risk losing all your 'funds'. But that's not all: the sheep, goats and cows you will conduct to the God of the mountain each have another use.

Prepare to spend money in order to make money.

CONTROLS: WASD to move

Left Mouse Button to attack with your spear

F to interact

Q to stop the cattle close to you from advancing!!

Update: we added a post-Ludum Dare patch that fixes some things. If you want to try it out, please do! But remember that this patch was made after Ludum Dare was over, so do not use it to judge our game. Use the base game for that. Thank you and enjoy the game! :smile:

Really cute game, I absolutely love the graphics. There are some interesting interactions and I got myself lost in parts of the map I was not supposed to be at, but I consider those features, not bugs. Really good game!

Cute little game, I liked the visuals, but like somebody else said before you get lost pretty easily on the map. Also, when opening a chest an item got stuck inside the chest, so I was unable to pick it up :(
Apart from this it's a fun game with great visuals and sounds!

The graphics and gameplay come together to make a short but sweet adventure through the deserted wasteland. The dialogue was amusing, and so was the massive chain of animals I had amassed by the end. Very well done!

Great graphics! I'm amazed by how much content you got in there and a cute mechanic. Really pleasant experience. I wish there were a few more guys to kill, since the brief experience I had was fun.

One weird thing I noticed. After you cross the bridge if the guy steals one of your animals but you kill him before he puts the cow in the fence then any additional animals you have follow you will just sit next to the stolen animal. Not game breaking, since you can still use them to do stuff but thought I'd point it out.

The character models are very good. The camera is not in the best angle imo, the animation of hitting is very heavy(maybe a layer mask animation would be better ?)Very nice polished entry.

Yeah, the sheep still moving in the spike pit is nightmare fuel, wiggling on the border of life and death. Well I guess it's still better than lava...? I managed to sacrifice 15 animals (and a chunk of wood) to the volcano gods, so there shouldn't be any famine anytime soon, I'm proud of myself. Never got any fruit or cloth for trading though, and only one bandit, so maybe I didn't have an optimal run.

Models are great, while the cutesy animals were nailed as expected, you also pulled off the b u f f native dude incredibly well, kudos for that. Music is good, it wouldn't feel out of place in an Aladdin game or something, definitely fits. Fighting the bandit was pretty fun, I liked that, that felt satisfying. Very cool entry!

@siryakko Thank you! I agree with you about the theme. The initial idea was to focus on using the cattle as currency, giving it away to buy stuff (like with the merchant) and vice versa, and having it stolen by bandits, but as we progressed we ended up using the cattle more as an 'item' needed to progress.

Love the visuals in this. Very polished and well done. Audio was non-intrusive and fit the game well. I appreciated how the game taught me what to do through hints. I did run into a problem where one of the three pieces of wood couldn't be picked up (I only had two cows when I opened the chest), so I wasn't able to complete that mission.

I love those models. The mechanics of cattle is interesting. I also like different uses of cattle to overcome different obstacles, especially :sheep: I miss a little bit more of a challenge, defeat the bandit was easy and then it was enough to just run around and collect sheep. I didn't even use the shop for the first playthrough, on my second I sold accidentally more cows than I wanted when I tried to pick up the wood.

Overall you did a good job. :goat: :cow2: :sheep:

Very good ! The graphics are very beautiful and the mechanic of collecting the animals and make them follow you one by one is very sarisfying and interesting. The use of different animals for different actions is very interesting but I don't understand why a cow would die when you take off the wood it has on it. The game map is huge and the gameplay is very diversified, Congratulations for making such a good game in a such little period of time !

I loved the graphics and the music was amazing but I didn't quite get what to do — I tried crossing the river many different times and always died. And I also died when the wooden shopkeeper started throwing wood at me :D But maybe it was just me ... 3D art was amazing, kudos to the artist(s).

Very good entry. The graphical style was really well done, had no problems there.

I felt that sound effects weren't great, and got really grating after a while. Also, it was strange to have combat when there was only one encounter in the game, it feels like that time could have been better spent expanding the non-violent part of the game. Concept-wise I like the idea of expending animals to progress, but it felt strange that a cow would die after turning in an item and sheep being used to cross spikes felt a bit contrived. I would say that my biggest complaint was the movement speed relative to the world size, as it just took forever to go from place to place. I noticed that I got a slight boost when hitting space, so I ended up spamming space to go at max speed which wasn't great.

Overall though, I think this was a really good entry nitpicks aside.

Great game! Graphics is the best, the world is huge and the characters are awesome. Gameplay and sound are very good as well. Just a couple of things I found a bit annoying:
- mouse pointer doesn't disappear;
- found a breach in the level layout, walked for a minute or so until walked to a dead end with a river. Was to lazy to go back, so tried to drown. After that, my cattle stayed on the other side of the river and all the new animals behaved really weird stretching the chain across the whole island and going away from me;
- after the sacrifice to the volcano, which was actually quite hilarious, the game behaved weirdly. The game over screen is on, but I could still interact with the volcano and hear the resulting sounds;
- dialog and animal sounds were a bit unnatural, but maybe it's just me.

Overall, amazing job!

Awesome graphics, neat and clean UI, and with a complete game loop!

I missed some Sfx : no footsteps, no "hoovesteps", rock smashing and breaking, no animals idle grows, no ambience effects (wind, eagles, buzards, crows, wind, river), spear attack sfx not well synced with the animation and no grunt from protagonist.

The camera should spin around the protagonist to avoid weird angles (maybe alllows the user to use Q/E to rotate it).

I had a bug which made my cows sitll carry the wood i gave to the bridge guy and leaving me without enough inventory space to collect other items.

More scenario animated elements to give an increased immersion like a simples vertex displacement shader on the trees and grass, sandstorm or dust particles floating around and maybe thumbleweeds passing by.

More clutter on the plain ground, like small rocks and more grass pachs and vegetatiton variance.

Funny game! At the place were you sacrifice the sheep I ditched my giant train of animals. So when the ladies made comments about how I am bringing the whole islands food supply with me, I realised that you don't check how many animals are following me. After the game is finished you continue to centre the screen on the mouse cursor, so you can't actually press quit. Other than those things, was it a great game.

As soon as I opened the game, this tribal music filled me with joy, its honestly great. The fact that sounds differentiate based on what animal you interact with is a adds varience and they are pretty funny. Graphics though are simple, the game is 3D and they are made in 3 days and are enjoyable to the eye which is a great plus.
The game was very fun and easy to catch up on what to do.

Lol poor ships that were used to open the route xD

Attack animation feels a bit sluggish. I think making it more rapid would be a great idea.
There was a bug:
1- Sometimes animals are stuck in objects and dont move, or if lets say you push a sheep into the spikes and release it, then you cant interact with it anymore and you cant pass on, animals shouldnt be able to go into that hole.

Overall its an amazing experience, I dont see much good 3D games made in 3 days which accounts for any bugs, well done guys!

(You rated a lot of games gj on that too, shows how dedicated you are :smile:)

Ok the art direction is *top notch*! Music, sfx and of course the visuals are fantastic. The camera angle was great too, which is an accomplishment!
Also what a clever take on the theme, having your money follow you and double as other things too!
Fantastic entry, I'm very impressed!!!!

I played until I got stuck on the bridge: When the goat who was wandering on the bridge was added to my followers, I was right in between the first and the last one, then got sadly stuck there 😢

Anyway, from what I've tested so far, you have an incredibly pro looking game here 😮 The music fits perfectly the mood, the sound fx are really good (however I'm not a huge fan of the sound used for the girls when they talk), the mechanics are easy to understand and you have plenty of time to test what you have to learn before getting into the real stuff.

I will of course test the game again to have a complete view of your awesome work 😃

Great job, I'm looking forward to seeing more from you (have you got a Twitter account?)

The artstyle was really well-done! usually I don't like 3D graphics, but yours had a clear distinct style to it that made it really nice to look at! The gameplay is innovative; I've never seen another game like this before! The animals are cute! Please fix the audio, my ears hurt ;-;

One of the better entries I've seen!

The art is excellent and the concept fits the theme. I liked the music too, however some of the sfx wasn't great. I was happy with the amount of content as well, it felt like an entire experience and didn't end too suddenly. Good job!

Couple of bugs I experienced (nothing absolutely game breaking):
- Falling through the world and dying
- Items from a chest getting stuck inside it, preventing me from interacting with them
- Mouse showing in the middle of the screen throughout the game

I absolutely adore the mainmenu music it just made me really excited for your game! And playing through it was something else entirely, it felt like I was playing through a Zelda game for some reason, and it really made me happy. Great job, though a more menacing build up of the impending doom would have made it 10x better, overall it was a fantastic game with great graphics though one thing I had to say is that there a glitch or an unintended mechanic where you can spam space to quickly travel across the land. Thanks for submitting a game, I loved it!
