Definitely made me want some pizza! I wondered if there was a way to regain power/life, though. Didn't seem like it, so I died every time, lol.

Fun game!

The art style is very interesting, I love the feel of it!

The concept of using the same resource for health & money is pretty cool, I haven't played any other TD game with this idea, and it seems to work well.

The "towers" will need improvements though: I don't really see the points number 1 and 4. I just figure number 1 is a barricade that slow down enemies, which is pretty much useless IMO; and I honestly don't know how number 4 work.

I can see the distinction between No.2 and 3: number 2 deal less damage but auto lock on enemies while number 3 is a stationary mine-like unit.

In the end I completed the game solely with number 3. I guess the game could be a lot more interesting if the unit have different clear purposes, strengths and weaknesses that make you think to choose the one best suit current situation :)

@sheeptree  thanks for givin' it a whirl! yeah you can gain life, gotta smoke some enemies - you gain their HP

@avavt :kissing_heart: thanks for the feedback! happy you beat it! we were slightly worried it was too hard, we've had trouble balancing gameplay in previous jam builds. we knew how the enemies and towers/defenses worked... we figured players would like to figure it out by trial and error LOL

This was so good!

The graphics were straight out of kongregate circa 2008 and I loved every minute of it. It was a bit confusing at first but once I figured it out it was a lot of fun, very hectic.

The art style is really good! =D

But I think the game has a dominant strategy. You only have to keep 6 or 7 of the second mushroom in the field. Once you do that, the game becomes very easy, and you don't even have to use the other mushrooms, neither evade the enemies (the second shrooms do all the work for you).

To fix that, maybe the points you use to spawn the shrooms should be earned by doing something else (perhaps shooting the enemies by yourself)

I couldn't figure out quite how this worked and the game was a bit high resolution for my screen. Though I deployed mushrooms and stuff, the mushroom house
always exploded and covered everything with green spores. However, I give marks to graphics and theme because it's a game about pizza. Cheers!

Cool game. The music and art were both great. The webgl version was a bit too big for my screen (1440x900).

Omg, I had so much fun! Neat graphics, great humor, cool sound fx. I loved the title / game over animations. The shroom bomb is impressive! This game is full of funny inventions and, unlike others I've seen, every detail is very consistent with the base idea, you really feel you are moving on a pizza! Very good job.
Beware of olives!!! :D :D

First I failed to defend the "castle" using various "towers" fast enough, but then I was just buying 2nd mushrooms for all money and easily cleared the game. Usually it's opposite... guess game needs better balance.

I liked the art, sound is not very good, but not bad either.

Overall, I liked the game, but wish it could be more challenging (balanced)

Holy shit this game was fun! haha, the art is amazing, the sounds are amazing. Everything seems perfect, only complain/critic i have is that it is really easy, beat it first try Mushroom Bombs are OP, also number 2 Shrooms are really good. Congrats on the game man was really cool!

Fantastic graphics, especially all the small details. Great audio, humor and theme. All very professional and smooth. Game balance definitely needs addressing though. I found it punishingly hard at first and then completely trivial once I used the 3 shrooms. Great ending. Very impressive entry overall, great work!

Wow very interesting Game.

Good balanced and overall a very good Job for the Ludum Dare.

Keep Going with Game Dev

but the endscreen was kind of disturbing XD

A pizza masterpiece. I didn't get along with the rocket. My fav tactic is to spawn land mines in front of melee troops who then push the land mines into enemies. Both win and lose animations are hilarious, especially the man eating his whole arm... and then it was a double arm with another pizza!

Wow, I loved the animations (and the graphics, in general), really fiting for the overall mood of the game.

About the gameplay, at first It was confusing because I wasn't avoiding the enemies myself, and most OHKO you almost instantly. Once I learned that, the game became really easy, using a combination of number 1 and number 2 for defending the base (although I think number 2 was enough) with no problem at all.

Even with that, a rather cool game, good job completing it on time!

Really loved the art style and graphics. I also really dig that it started off so frantic while the player is figuring everything out. Great job! I wish I had more constructive feedback for you haha.

Pretty good, the art style was well done in that cartoony style, although the guy on the game over screen was too gross for me. Pretty polished overall.
Personally i found it weird that some of the enemies rotated with collisions, but maybe thats just me. It should be faster to restart a game when you die, instead of click restart -main screen - space, just one key press to restart straight away.

Pizzamancy! (only word for the end-game screen). I liked the art style and the game itself was fun but it seems like the only really relevant powers are 2 (and 5 if you accidentally get yourself killed).

I love the 2d graphics and music as well. I couldn't figure out the point of any mushroom besides 2. 3 seemed to blow up randomly (even while enemies were on the screen) and 1, it didn't even buy me enough time to be worth the cost. I found that spamming 2 (Like mentioned above) was the easiest way to win the game.

I will say that it needs are health bars. I couldn't figure out if my 2's were about to die or not, and suddenly they were just gone. Also my mushrooms got super aggressive and ran off of the screen one too many times. That made it hard to see if they were getting rocked off screen or not. I believe bounding them to the screen view would be beneficial.

I did enjoy the game though, curious to see if you take it any further. :D

My high score for finishing was 310.

That was cool! I pretty much liked everything. I easily won using a lot of blockers and melees and without spawning any other kind of mushrooms. I tried to use the rocket one but it killed me more than once. =p

Cool art style lots of movement. I really like the premise. It felt like sound effects were missing in a lot of places. The rocket mushroom didn't feel particularly useful. Nice game :)

This was fun! The music sets a great mood, and the art and sound are cool too.

Snappy controls with no issues in game, so a very good feel. I could have used a faster retry loop, as I retried a bunch of times and my first few runs were over very quickly so I ate a lot of the retry early.

Made me want to play one more time to try another combo of shrooms - nice work!

This game is very well put together. The art style is cool and the music fits really well. The mechanic of having health and currency as the same resource is unique and interesting.

It seems as though weapons are not very balanced - bombs and heat-seeking missiles are both very powerful, and it's not particularly hard to win with either of them. Melee mushrooms are a bit harder to use, although I imagine that with enough spamming, it could still be relatively simple to win. I think it might be good to introduce more difficulty (as well as increasing difficulty) somehow.

Side note: your 'cheat sheet', I think, is mixed up - mushroom three appears to be a missile while mushroom four appears to be a bomb, but the cheat sheet lists 3 as a bomb and 4 as a missile.

Had a good time playing this game, I played more rounds than I planned on which is definitely a good sign :)
I really like the art and the humor of the game. It took a bit of time to figure out the strengths of the different defenses but there is a good amount variety which got me to experiment with different strategies!
Well done on getting a great game done!

Wow, this is one of the best games I played in this dare! Definitely a 5:star: in Graphics and Audio! As for the gameplay, I felt like the first 2 mushrooms were useless, I ended up only using 4th to create a minefield around the base and actively hunt with the 3rd when I can. (because it was cheaper). I understand that you supposed to slow down the enemies with the 1st mushroom while the 2nd deals damage, but since 2nd is moving to the target, it will go in front of the first, and since its too weak its get eaten without doing any real damage. Also one other problem is that the hud blocks the view if you staying at the bottom of the screen. Also the my base always gets destroyed in seconds, it's not a hard game but you should probably reduce the damage of the enemies.

Anyway its a very well done game, one of most polished I have played so far, congrats !

(Try [my game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/small-world-transport)! It kinda sucks! ^_^')

First of all I was think art is terrible but with funny bounce animations it become awesome .I'm jealous of music :D mine was terrible. I played many times until win and after win. Spawning 4th mushroom spent my all money because of there isn't enemy you should check are there any . Absolutely funny game

Great game. Really enjoyed it! It looks like you guys put a lot of work into this game and it shows! Love the graphics! But one thing that I didn't enjoy too much was the repetitiveness. It got a bit redundant but I honestly don't mind it that much. It's hard to balance a Ludum Dare game, nobody has the time to.

Very Good Game! It certainly had a unique style to it. The graphics and audio were amazing, I had a lot of fun playing it, it was no doubt funny and had the right mood. The theme was pretty loose (although I shouldn't be speaking TBH,) and it was not the most innovative game, but still very good overall. I would have liked a bit of a difficulty curve, but I still died a few times.
