The art style is very interesting, I love the feel of it!
The concept of using the same resource for health & money is pretty cool, I haven't played any other TD game with this idea, and it seems to work well.
The "towers" will need improvements though: I don't really see the points number 1 and 4. I just figure number 1 is a barricade that slow down enemies, which is pretty much useless IMO; and I honestly don't know how number 4 work.
I can see the distinction between No.2 and 3: number 2 deal less damage but auto lock on enemies while number 3 is a stationary mine-like unit.
In the end I completed the game solely with number 3. I guess the game could be a lot more interesting if the unit have different clear purposes, strengths and weaknesses that make you think to choose the one best suit current situation :)
@avavt :kissing_heart: thanks for the feedback! happy you beat it! we were slightly worried it was too hard, we've had trouble balancing gameplay in previous jam builds. we knew how the enemies and towers/defenses worked... we figured players would like to figure it out by trial and error LOL

The graphics were straight out of kongregate circa 2008 and I loved every minute of it. It was a bit confusing at first but once I figured it out it was a lot of fun, very hectic.
But I think the game has a dominant strategy. You only have to keep 6 or 7 of the second mushroom in the field. Once you do that, the game becomes very easy, and you don't even have to use the other mushrooms, neither evade the enemies (the second shrooms do all the work for you).
To fix that, maybe the points you use to spawn the shrooms should be earned by doing something else (perhaps shooting the enemies by yourself)
always exploded and covered everything with green spores. However, I give marks to graphics and theme because it's a game about pizza. Cheers!
Beware of olives!!! :D :D
I liked the art, sound is not very good, but not bad either.
Overall, I liked the game, but wish it could be more challenging (balanced)
Good balanced and overall a very good Job for the Ludum Dare.
Keep Going with Game Dev
but the endscreen was kind of disturbing XD
About the gameplay, at first It was confusing because I wasn't avoiding the enemies myself, and most OHKO you almost instantly. Once I learned that, the game became really easy, using a combination of number 1 and number 2 for defending the base (although I think number 2 was enough) with no problem at all.
Even with that, a rather cool game, good job completing it on time!
Personally i found it weird that some of the enemies rotated with collisions, but maybe thats just me. It should be faster to restart a game when you die, instead of click restart -main screen - space, just one key press to restart straight away.
I will say that it needs are health bars. I couldn't figure out if my 2's were about to die or not, and suddenly they were just gone. Also my mushrooms got super aggressive and ran off of the screen one too many times. That made it hard to see if they were getting rocked off screen or not. I believe bounding them to the screen view would be beneficial.
I did enjoy the game though, curious to see if you take it any further. :D
My high score for finishing was 310.

Snappy controls with no issues in game, so a very good feel. I could have used a faster retry loop, as I retried a bunch of times and my first few runs were over very quickly so I ate a lot of the retry early.
Made me want to play one more time to try another combo of shrooms - nice work!
It seems as though weapons are not very balanced - bombs and heat-seeking missiles are both very powerful, and it's not particularly hard to win with either of them. Melee mushrooms are a bit harder to use, although I imagine that with enough spamming, it could still be relatively simple to win. I think it might be good to introduce more difficulty (as well as increasing difficulty) somehow.
Side note: your 'cheat sheet', I think, is mixed up - mushroom three appears to be a missile while mushroom four appears to be a bomb, but the cheat sheet lists 3 as a bomb and 4 as a missile.
I really like the art and the humor of the game. It took a bit of time to figure out the strengths of the different defenses but there is a good amount variety which got me to experiment with different strategies!
Well done on getting a great game done!
