420 Planets

Screenshot1.png In honor of the very recent 20th of April, we present to you 420 Planets, a game made by @Kakureta and @nightedge3141. Screenshot2.png In this game, you take on the role of a very high lad who seems to have rolled a blunt or two, so much that he finds himself bad-tripping because he thinks he's in space. You must therefore advance through multiple small worlds each different from one another, solving puzzles and jumping on platforms in order to reach the end, where a _special surprise_ awaits you.

Controls: Use the A and D keys to move and the space bar to jump. Clicking with the left mouse button will allow you to interact with certain objects (such as signs or doors). Screenshot4.png

Known Issues:

  • Sometimes, the planet will not stop rotating when the player collides with a wall, causing the character to fall into the endless void
  • You can click on doors from anywhere on the map
  • The background doesn't extend far enough on the grasslands planet (world 6)
  • The animation at the end of a level will not always be centered on the player
  • In certain instances, clicking the "next level" button at the end of a level will click on the "quit" button instead

That was a weird game. I now see what you guys were doing during Ludum Dare

I'm not usually one for stoner humor, but I thought the idea of the world rotating under the player was clever!

Weird as hell. Didn't expect 420 jokes in this jam. At least not this time. Not my kind of humor, but it was fine nonetheless

Quite entertainingly weird, and the strange alien worlds + planet rotating below you thing works well. One complaint: the portal sound is too loud compared to the music. I was playing it with headphones, just about able to hear the music, and the portal sound was a shock.

Graphics and concept are my highlight in this game. I would see more about this game in a near future, really interesting! (The best thing I like is the animation when you travel to other planet hahaha).

I won! Fun game. The controls and movement work surprisingly well even with the rotation.

game felt very slow in general, I felt like it took to long to get where I wanted.

I like the sound effect of beating each level. The menu to go to the next level was a bit finicky with the mouse collision and I accidentally quit the game on my first round of play. Pretty compelling game, interesting message. I'm lit.

I loved those realistic splash effects. They just really add to the realism and mood of the game. I don't know what this entry would be without them. No game has gotten water right before this point. But you have done it. This could be industry changing.

On a side note, nice humor.

I really like it! Although I had a problem, on the next world dialog, I would hit next level but it was like the quit button was pressed, first time I thought itg was me, but on the 5th time on the 6th level I lost my patience.
That aside, the mechanics are awesome and the riddles are clever, unfortunately i dindt see the story evolve sadly. Great Job!!

Man this was a chill game! It was very relaxing and fun to play. I really like the riddles. Sometimes jumping on the platforms was hard, but maybe that's intentional. Happy 420!

This one was quite fun to play to be fair, I liked the different planets and the FX were quite cool

Great game! Nice difficulty, both with the platforming and with the riddles, nice music, nice humor (in my opinion of course)... Top notch man!

Funny platformer/puzzle game. Platforming is intuitive, but I guess controlling the high of the jump could improve platforming IMHO. As for puzzling - clear, but if you don't know the answer - you just re-play and choose another door :)

Solid entry. Saw allot of games with sphere world but not many 2D ones. The idea was pretty funny and the graphics are pretty nice

The player has a tendency to slide off of the center of the screen, especially in the web version. You might be able to fix that by conforming them to a line in the center of the screen at the end of each frame.

Other than that little bug, it was a fun game! The art had a sense of direction, but wasn't repetitive. I do wish there were more levels, though.
