It doesn't meet the theme really. Nice music, and well done on finishing the jam.

Edit: I didn't die on my first placethrough, and didn't realise that was when you introduced the theme. I changed my ratings to reflect this. Pretty cool and innovative.

The game was fun! Good work!

It would have been nice to have some way to have the friends regroup.

A very solid concept at work here, and a clever take on the theme.

Interesting mechanic! Great take on the theme! I wonder what else could be done with this.

Fun stuff. Definitely die during your playthrough, since the game goes from relatively easy to fiendishly difficult once you have your friends tagging along.

Cool idea, and great execution for your first game!

Thanks everyone for the nice words, you are awesome! We appreciate all your kind words and also criticism!

@seanw Yes, we also felt that we could have done so much more with this (status efects, dizziness, camera change), the time limit and my programming experience didn't really help thought.

I think this is a very good game! I like the expressions on the squares! And how it adds more squares when you die, which make it really hard on some levels! I think that's the only issue with this game really - the difficulty curb can be a bit sharp. I like the bouncy music too - goes well with the art/design!

A puzzly mechanic indeed, it was fun to try and move all blocks to the course end, but it was way too punishing :<

Losing one block makes you restart all over again, it became frustrating very quickly. Praises for the mechanic though, good job.

Awesome ! Very nice approach of the theme, love the mood, the concept and the graphics :D I found the game maybe a little too hard though, but that's probably me, congrats for the work ! :)

I really liked the concept for the theme. Great animations, good look and feel too. Although it does get a bit frustrating because of the big guy, but all in all not bad and well done!
All the best!

Cool game. When you die holding a directional key (which is most the time) you end up immediately moving your character when you re-spawn. So I had to press R again each time I re-spawned to stack the characters correctly. Not sure if this was intended, but if not you could disable input at the start. Either way, nice entry! :D

Love this game. Very simple but at the same time very original and very fun to play. It did fit the theme perfectly .... It did get a lot worse indeed :P

Great Job on your first LD game!

Good concept: many characters but one controller. The level design of this kind of game is not easy, and you're doing well.
Proposition: You can reverse the concept, start with 3 or more characters. If you loose, the game help you and kill characters. When no character, game over.
It's just an idea, this is your game! Really good job for a first game.

It's so happy! Hahahaha I love it! I think you did really well nailing the concept. It totally did get trickier when Inky and Pinky joined you, but the level design was really intelligent and made it all possible. I honestly couldn't stop playing, so thats a good sign you've made a great game! The music was insanely catchy too.
Awesome job on a first game, it was my first attempt this game jam too. I hope you can check out my attempt at some point :)

(P.S. I don't have kids but playing this game I imagined it was exactly what it would be like.'No.. dont go there...noooo NO NO DONT DO THAT COME BACK HERE' hahahaha

Thanks everyone that has played, we are baffled that so many people like our game, even if it is our first and it has been done from start to bottom during Ludum Dare.

Those are great suggestions

@Kciwsolb - it wasn't intended, i tried to fix it in different ways, but couldn't find a right approach between seeing the animations, and being frustrated.
@nights87 Thank you for the saying so many nice things about it! Also your game is really good!
@gaming -night We also thought of adding status effects, like dizziness or reversing the controls just to make it more difficult

Thank you so much guys for all the feedback, we never expected this :D as was said before me anyway :) Sorry for making the game too hard, I am aware of it. It was hard to balance the playthrough with one and three squares, but I am glad to see at least some people had patience to finish it, you are awesome!

I really like the concept, though oh wow the difficulty spikes super fast once even one friend spawns. It got great potential though! Good job!

Nice cute platformer game which I have been searching for since you presented it at MFF site :)

I like how you made the level design and how you managed to cope with the engine to create some interesting mechanics and impressive animations.

Is there some endgoal ? I am asking because my platformer skills are not sufficient to get far enough in the game

I hope to see you next time :)

@x-budsterized-x oh hello, thanks so much for feedback! We appreciate it. :) I know you, you are the guy with the half naked space chick! Going to check it out right now.

As for your question, the endgoal exists, though it is a legend which only few have seen!

Hopefully see you next time!

Nice idea with spawning more squares when you die. It really fits well to the theme. I think it got a little bit too hard with 3 squares though to finish the game. Would have loved some place in the level where I can gather or stack them properly again after some difficult jumps. Because sometimes they just diverged so much that it was almost impossible to jump. But in most part I like your level design since it considered all 3 cases with one, two and three squares. All in all you did well for the first time. Keep up the good work!

@split82 It means a lot to us your attention. Another aim at this ludum dare, was beat the level 2 from BeatSaber. I was close but didn't manage, will try with a lot more passion next chance that I have!

Great use of the theme! Some nice aesthetic touches too, ex. the facial expressions and the background music. I will say that deaths often felt sudden and unexpected - if there was just a death sound/animation after touching spikes it would feel a lot more organic. (Even better would be if the camera snapped over to the character that died, so you'd know exactly where you messed up.)

It's a nice and fun concept! Maybe I would have like it more if you already started with two squares already, so the player could be more engaged with the main mechanic. The music is fun as well. Good job

Nice entry! i wished that the game would have been a bit longer. If you're ready to learn new things (as every developer should :D) try to implement random map creation into this game! You'll definitely learn useful things and mechanics. good job!

Really love it, the level design is very thought through for all cubes. The only problem is that the level is quite easy to play with just one cube, so when you don't die you don't see the other cubes appearing at all. This might be my favorite game from the LD at Charles University ;)

Really like the concept you got for the game and it's executed greatly and in harmony with the theme of LD. The only thing I wish you would have done is to make some kind of tool or power to make one of the clones disappear. The game was super fun and well done so congrats on you effort!!!
