So if you say things like "please help me" or "what can I do" it will deflect the questions.\r<br\/>I think you can beat the game using keywords like: "items" "check" "go" "follow" "use" "open", but I tried to make it respond to as many things as possible.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>The gameplay really goes downhill after the first story though. I rushed the other "five," and didn't add a ton of gameplay or proofread the game text. I'd like to fix it but right now I'm burnt out on the game. :("}],"images":["mini42\/21983-e71449680ec5cdb831aa885bd3b7390b.jpg","mini42\/21983-77ca08eba33a829c3a1368ae1fcede5e.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/hitchh1k3r.itch.io\/the-ends-of-the-earth","text":"All OS (Java)"},{"url":"https:\/\/github.com\/hitchh1k3r\/MiniLudumDare42","text":"Source"},{"url":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6lHuC2HDbts","text":"Timelapse"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"35519","g_author":"21983","g_event":"MINI42","g_eventkey":"67","g_subevent":"-","g_urlkey":"37376","g_title":"The Ends of the Earth","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"2","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/259658\/21983-shot0.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/259658\/21983-shot1.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"Wow looking at the other entries I'm not even sure if I want to post this. Good work everyone.\r\n\r\nMy entry for MiniLD42 is \"The Ends of the Earth\" a tribute to Douglas Adams.\r\nIt's the first text based game I've made in years. I made it in about 15 hours over two days. The game isn't where I wanted it (that will become apparent if you play it through), but I lost my drive to keep working on it and decided to just start finishing it.\r\nAll in all it's not great, but it more or less a complete game. It's a text adventure inspired by the things I remember hearing\/reading about Adams. I tried to make it somewhat similar to the Hitchhiker's Guide video game, but of course with it's own unique story.\r\n\r\nI used:\r\nEclipse (IDE)\r\nJava (Lanuage)\r\nLWJGL (Library)\r\nSlick-Util (Library Utilities)\r\nMilyTracker (Music Making)\r\nOpenOffice (Word Processor\/Spell Checker)\r\nPhotoshop (Graphics Editor)\r\n\r\nKeep in mind I'm not a writer... I'm sure there are dozens (or more) typos. It also crossed my mind (after I had started), that a lot of the audience might not speak English natively. The game does a lot of guess work for the \"natural language processing\" bit, and I apologize that playing the game may require a fluent understanding of English, but then again even that might not help.<\/p>","title":"The Ends of the Earth"}
