Stargazing by PaulSB

[raw]
made by PaulSB for MINI37 (-)
This is a vaguely educational not-game about exploring the night sky. Join The Couple as they gaze at the heavens, picking out constellations.

I spent literally hours mapping a real section of the Northern sky for the stars you see here - this is a replication of stars as of how they can be seen at my location right now, so big thanks to this lovely site: http://neave.com/planetarium/.

It's only short. Protip: you have to click exactly on a star to select it. It is not designed to challenge, just to be experienced. Happy star-hunting!

The game was made in Flixel with Gimp arting and FL Studio/Kontakt audio.

Cute concept. I went around and found all the constellations, but got no audio. Maybe there's a bug still floating around?

Never mind. One of the other entries clobbered my sound output somehow. Yours is fine.

Subtitles are great! A great learning tool. Music fits nicely.

Have you read Gödel Escher Bach? The dialog reminds me a great deal of a series of dialogs in that book. Might just be a coincidence.. But anywho, I very much enjoyed your game!

@Ditto: I haven't actually! Coincidence I'd say but I did write with a deliberate style that is probably derivative of a number of sources.

Thanks for the nice comments :)

Very atmospheric AND educational ... now I want to do something like that, too. :-) Love the story telling aspect!
