It's your responsibility to protect him from the dangers of the jungle.
When the kid is going to fall off a cliff - Pick him up with your mouse.
When a bat is coming - Click on it and it will die.
When an eagle is coming - Pick the kid above him.

Super hard game, but a lot of fun actually. I think the red bar empties just a tad to quick to get past some situations, but a good game. Couldn't finish it though.

I think the difficulty spoils the fun a little. It'd be nice to be able to drag the character left/right as well as up/down, because there isn't really enough time to hold the character above the wider gaps.
