The New Kid by kblaney
My first 48hour game competition. Not super happy with how it turned out, but I learned a lot. If LD isn't about learning about game development, I don't know what is.
What I tried to capture how hard it is to blend into a crowd in a new school by pretending to be someone else. Often times your will just have too conflicting points of view and you can't just agree with everyone no matter how hard you try.
My best scores were in the range of 75 seconds.

Why dont put it in a flash game hosting site like kongregate?
The idea itself is pretty nice and realistic, I like it.
You lose based on an invisible health meter that goes up when you are near the same clique and down (faster the longer you've been playing) when you are near different cliques. So, if multiple people were near you, it is very possible you will be losing more "health" than you are gaining, especially late in the game.
My thought was that you never really know how well you fit in in a new school. The problem, of course, is players have no way of knowing when they are about to lose. I didn't think it was a big deal as play style shouldn't change no matter how much or little "health" the player has, but that was still the number one complaint I have from people who have played it. (You know, besides art.)
