Chromatic Katydid by digital_sorceress

My idea for the theme Adaption was based on the chameleon. This creature changes it's skin colour for camouflage, so that predators become less hostile.

This is what happens in my game: By eating flower seeds, the katydid changes colour and the other katydids become more/less hostile.

Control with cursor keys.

Left/Right = Steer
Forward/Backward = Move
A+Z = Change Elevation.

Sorry...

I really wanted to check your game, it's 3d looks cool but when I try to run it on my computer I get:
"
Run-time error '53':
File not found: fmodex.dll
"

Sorry...(*damn computers*)

It means you don't have the FMOD library installed. Lots of commercial games install it, so I expected people would have it!

If you want, you can search for the dll online, and plant it in the game directory. But later today I will I repackage the zip with the dll included. :)

WOW!

Amazing!
The 3d + music + gameplay + thinking how to make each color is making this game perfect!

The smooth flying with the music makes you feel so relaxed... I could play this game for alot of time.

GREAT GAME!

(As you said you should add the fmodex.dll to the zip it's stupid to skip this game because of this stupid error)

Now that I'm able to play it, its great. Ha. I like the constant thought, "What do I need to collect to get to the right color?" I didn't get too far, but I imagine this would get pretty intense on waves that have two different color Katydids at the same time. You could never be safe by just getting the "right" color.

I planned having mixed colour waves, and the code is all setup for it with each katydid having it's own colour variable. But due to lack of time, it was cut from the design.

I also wanted to make it more like Joust, in that whoever attacks from above defeats the one below, but that would have required a different AI, so it too was cut from the design to save me some time.
