The ball loves the blue haired heroine but she rejects him, so the ball chases her across a whole world with the help of the player, then finally the ball can confess to loving the heroine. :)\r<br\/>The ball is a metaphore for being different and having your intentions misconstrued."}],"images":["mini26\/3590-d9fe183ba91c2026a40a556f75aa4899.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"http:\/\/www.elbowroom.co.il\/proj\/smashy\/smashy.html","text":"Web == Windows || Linux || OS\/X"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"35011","g_author":"3590","g_event":"MINI26","g_eventkey":"51","g_subevent":"COMPO","g_urlkey":"36802","g_title":"smashy smash - Descend, Demolish and Dirt.","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"9","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/55008\/3590-shot0.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"The game presents the protagonist, a Blue haired girl in a metroidvania type game making her way through a zone.\r\nHer hobbies: \r\nSpeed runs, Collecting power ups, defeating bosses..\r\n\r\nThe game also presents Jeff, a down to earth wrecking ball that happens to have a crash on the Blue haired maiden.\r\nHis hobbies:\r\nsmash, smash and smashy smash\r\n\r\nControls:\r\n\r\nLeft for Left, Right for Right\r\n\r\nNotes:\r\n\r\nI am not done, I fell asleep in front of the computer around seven in the morning working on this.\r\nI did pretty much most of it from scratch.\r\n\r\nStuff I used:\r\n\r\n* I used a class I wrote that draws bricks.\r\n* I modified a sprite I made a while back into the girl.\r\n* I used a function I wrote that checks for collisions between a round object and a platform.\r\n\r\nNew stuff:\r\n\r\n* I wrote a class that generates a random level\r\n* I wrote a class that creates a jumping path for the girl.\r\n* I wrote the engine that eats up the lvl data and puts  that *nearly* endless batch of platforms on screen.\r\n* Some changes to the way bitmaps are used in sprites.\r\n\r\nStuff I didn't need to do for this basic release:\r\n\r\n* I created a complicated self updating Data structure that contains data about the grid of tiles on screen.(I didn't use it and didn't need to).\r\n\r\nStuff that I want to do and have not done in the 48h:\r\n\r\n* The control scheme is supposed to be 'dirt based', meaning that you manipulate matter to direct the ball.\r\nCurrently for simplicity sake it is keyboard controlled.\r\nGoal: I would like to try a different control scheme.\r\n\r\n*Win \/ Lose: implementation.\r\nGoal: The player gets a game over screen and a \"You win\" screen when it is apprpriate.\r\nGoal#2: The player gets a smashing animation when he hits the girl heroine.\r\n\r\n*Balance:\r\nCurrently it is too easy to catch the girl.\r\nThe game should adjust to player skill.\r\nGoal: The girl jumps faster when you play well, and slows down a tiny bit if you are not doing so great.\r\nGoal#2: You are only supposed to be able to control the ball when it is near platforms again using *dirt* so that will also help make the game more challenging.\r\n\r\n*Variety:\r\nThere are only simple platforms currently and they are always going in the same general direction.\r\nGoal: Add spikes and a level generator that makes twisty levels that go in different directions.\r\nGoal#2: Different tiles and backgrounds as you progress.\r\n\r\n\r\nGeneral goal:\r\nA polished game, where you control by painting dirt near the platforms, created walls and small bouncing ramps to make the ball change directions and jump.<\/p>","title":"smashy smash - Descend, Demolish and Dirt."}
