Robot Platformer by Rose

[raw]
made by Rose for LD22 Warm-Up (-)
I had the theme "Collaboration", so I decided to make a game in which the player helps out the character in the game (in this case, by arranging platforms.) This could be the idea behind an actual game, but I only had time for this short bit for now.

It was good practice to add the music and sound effects, even though I didn't spend much time picking out the best ones. The sound effects are from Sfxr, the music from Wolfram Tones (http://tones.wolfram.com/).

Play with the arrow keys / WASD and dragging the red platform with the mouse.

Reminds me of this Lego game, forget what it was called... Junkbot or something like that. the player moves the Lego blocks and connects them, and the robot walks back and forth and can step up stairs. Is this based off that? Those tiles look like Lego bricks.

Trust me to find the way to cheat the game, you can just drag the platform whilst you're standing on it. xD
Really nice idea though.
Maybe if you made the red platform only solid if the mouse isn't being held down?

Very neat! This is a game that I could definitely play were it fleshed out a bit more. I really like the music/graphics.

Nice premise; I think it would work quite well if fleshed out into a longer platformer.
You could add switches to change the colour of blocks you are allowed to manipulate and enemies that can be killed by dropping off the screen or trapping.

Thanks for the comments! Quimby, those are good ideas. I'll definitely consider making this into a real game sometime. bobbobowitz, I haven't played that game, though it sounds similar - I just made lego bricks because you move them and snap them into place.
