Cubitest minigame by WhiteWolf93

[raw]
made by WhiteWolf93 for LD29 Warm-Up (-)
This is a warm up I made today :P, it's not the best for 5h but i love the mechanic and the style.

I was inspired by portal and antichamber.

This minigame is about thinking. What you need to do is elevate using the red cubes.

WASD to move.
Space to jump.
Mouse to look around and use the cubes :3

The collision is a bit bugged, sorry for that, :/

I uploaded the source if anyone wanna take a look too.

Made with Unity, Photoshop, Bsfxr and Fruity Loops.

Really liked the time-lapse video. Please consider publishing the game online to be played in a browser.

Surprised by volume when music start!

An easy tip for keybord compatibility when using WASD controls: map [W] and [Z] to move forward, [A] and [Q] to move left. Then you have a [QWERTY]/[AZERTY] keybords compatibility.

Looks awesome, great concept! For your LD game, you should also upload Mac + Linux versions.

Thanks! I'll upload Linux and Mac version in the 48h LD. Maybe someone can have lag with this version, it's cause the shaders i used, there is a non laggy version too, i'll upload it tomorrow.

About the keyboard compatibility, i'm not used to things like that, if i'll lend the player to change controls in the LD version maybe.

Now I only played the web version but I thought the shaders looked great but the input does feel a bit laggy. Also, I would only use Unity's Input manager (GetButton("Jump"))to change bindings as you could then use a gamepad to play as well instead of just limiting to keyboards. Good stuff all around though! :)

looks cool but my computer lags to almost a stand-still. Web version currently unplayable due to super lag on my macbook air. Maybe it works fine on a desktop pc, but I really want to see the no shader version.

I uploaded now the less laggy version (web), you should be fine now. I removed some shaders but it still looks good :) Take a look.

I would really love to develop a game like this, but i don't want to steal your idea... Nice concept.

You are free to use the idea as far as you give me the credit of the original idea :3, it's a warmup game you know, anyway i have the movement and collision totally fixed and some ideas in the back if you want the source.
