ShapeShit by leapyearboy

[raw]
made by leapyearboy for LD35 (JAM)
Follow the escape of an irrationally angry square as it 'shifts' to freedom.

- 10 Levels in total (9 + 10 are tricky but winnable)
- Normal Mode = restart level on death
- Hard Mode = restart at level 1

Controls:

A/D & LEFT/RIGHT arrows - left/right
W/Space/UP arrow - Jump
Left Shift - ShapeShift

Created by:
- Bas Tuijnman - Restarted the level...
- Bart Langedijk - Rolled a ball...
- Chris Lennon - Drunk some coffee...
- Joost Hoebe - Drew some things...
- Thomas Baillie - Copied some things...

External components -
Audio(https://freesound.org): fins & zagi2
Base tiles (for intro 'theme'): kenney.nl/assets

The name was started as git commit typo :D

== Post Jam ==
-Changed a screenshot to show all the levels.

Bugs found:
- Attempts to avoid death by lava result in being cast to eternal whitespace.
- User may vomit.
- Though its cool to shift with shift, sticky key settings can suck :(

I think I broke the game 'cause I'm floating in the air and nothing happens! But anyways: Pretty well done! :DD

Nice game!
Cool concept, and art looks simply and clean!
The inertia when moving the characters were too much for me :/
Overall great work!

Nice Game! Lots of shapes to shift to! :)

Maybe I would change the shapshifting to another key (I accidentally activated sticky keys in my computer :P)

Keep up the good work!

I liked the concept! It could be a really funny game if you add more levels with more usage of the various forms!

Pretty good game, fun to play. Although I would like to see more puzzle oriented to thinking, not agility. But I enjoyed the game

I like the style a lot. The puzzles are ok. You need a different key to shape-shift... "shift" was a funny idea but I keep activating Windows' sticky keys feature :-)

A fun little entry! Although I felt that the physics were a bit off - with most of the shapes having crazy-high acceleration! - I really like the idea. I just didn't feel too accomplished when I flew to the end, or over the end, instead of actually traversing the level!

The graphics are simple, but I really like the style... I think it suits the game very well.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to develop this a bit more - I feel that with a few tweaks to the movement, it could be great!
